I hired the services of Applewhite Movers in October this year to pack my household goods and place them in storage at a local Huntsville location. From start to finish this was a very pleasant experience (as unpleasant as moving is.) Applewhite sent a representative out who was very professional and courteous. She gave me very reasonable rates for packing and moving which the company honored with their blood sweat and tears. I say blood sweat and tears because my place was on a steep incline including 3 levels of stairs. Movers know the Church Hill condos at Airport and Whitesburg. On day one, the packing team of two too great care to ensure that my household items were properly wrapped and protected. The gentleman from West Point Miss was especially productive and helpful with advice. The next day, the moving team of five worked their butts off to ensure that they didn't go over the allotted hours I hired them for and took extra care to wrap my valuable wood furniture to protect it. After my goods were loaded onto their truck, a driver delivered them to the local storage facility where the same team quickly but carefully unloaded them that same day. What a great job without busting my budget! This was one of the best moving experiences that I have had and as a defense contractor who has moved more than 15 times in 30 years that is important. Some movers try to scam you for extra money or just throw your household goods in the truck carelessly when your back is turned. But not Applewhite. They treated my possessions as if they were their own.

I used Applewhite twice within a two month period. Giving them now, over $1200 in fees. This is fine, I'm ok with the rates (they are comparable to other companies in the area). The moving team, both times, were fantastic. They are friendly and move quickly. The office staff is pleasant to deal with over the phone. When I scheduled this last time, I was told that I had 72 hours (can't recall exactly the hours) to make a claim. When they finish, they make you sign a statement saying they didn't damage anything. This is obviously impossible to inspect all your household goods in 15 minutes! I give allowances for moving, some things will be dinged and damaged. I made no claim the first move. The second...I moved on a Wednesday, noticed the damage on Friday. Called Monday since they close so early on Friday and are not open on the weekends. I was told by their claims processor that "people do this all time, wait and say we broke it when we didn't." Excuse me? When I told him that I didn't appreciate him inferring I was making a false claim, he said, "I didn't say that. No need to get 'hostile'. I'm just saying is all". What exactly is it you're saying? I sent the pictures to the email he asked me to send to, to date, I have not heard anything back or follow up, it has been over 2 weeks now. I will NOT be using their services again. Heck! The multiple Army movers I've dealt with over the years do a better job with customer service!!! If that's possible!

I found this company on Groupon and gave them a call. The customer service was awesome and my entire experience was hassle free. The movers showed up on time & got right to work. I paid for 3 men/2 hours for 125 (Groupon deal) and they finished in 2 hours. I find that most moving companies go slow to milk you out of more money, not the case with Applewhite!! The men where timely and professional. I would definitely use them in the future & highly recommend them to anyone looking for a moving company!

I bought the service on Groupon for two movers for four hours. I asked about packing services and was quoted about 2 hours to pack the kitchen @ $75.00 per hour not including supplies. we were billed for 10 hours of packing plus materials. The problem with this is we were moving from a small townhouse and our new house is less than a mile away. We ended up with over 50 boxes!! Scratched wood floors they dropped weights on our steps that had just been refinished! Ruined my china cabinet ( burled walnut hand made )! Our move took about eight hours and our adult sons even started helping them because they are so slow. But this is how they take advantage of their customers because they can charge you more money over and above the Groupon. Now we finally get them out of our home and start unpacking and couldn't believe what was in our boxes. Wooden salad bowls wrapped with several layers of bubble wrap and tape and then padding.. we found several boxes with only one item in it. when I called them to complain about the damage to our furniture and floors they didn't seem to care they just wanted an additional $1800.00 over and above the Groupon! So the owner came by our office to pick up the payment and I let him know how dissatisfied we were with their services and he didn't even offer to come and look at the damage or adjust the outrageous bill. He literally stood in my office with a smile on his face and let me know these were his fees. So hopefully this review will help others to not make the same mistake my husband and I did.

Mys sister has talked to me about little else since she had the delightful experience of working with Applewhite Movers. It has been years since she began to consider the purchase of a new mattress. In the meanwhile she did her research to seek the perfect mattress at the perfect price and means to move it from the store to her home. Like I said-years. She finally set aside time to look for a brick & mortar store (JC Penney's) and was ready to bring it home, but Penney's deal was a close out and delivery was the concern of the purchaser, not Penney's. Fortunately, my sister heard about Applewhite (from another friend) and called them to meet her at Penney's. She was pleasantly surprised to find them polite, professional, punctual, gave her personalized care and removed her old mattress, reinstalled the new one with patience and attention to detail. Who knew such service was available anymore?
