Jon at “Stars and Stripes Movers” ended up LITERALLY SAVING US FROM A TRAGIC SITUATION! My son had just come back to MacDill Air Force base in Tampa, FL on Saturday after being granted humanitarian leave for two weeks to NC. While on the final days of leave, he received his discharge papers he’d been waiting on. He had exactly ONE WEEK to complete his “out processing” for his “HONORABLE DISCHARGE due to medical injuries” after serving our great United States ???????? Air Force ???? for 5 years. He had to “out process”, pack, get his U-haul, and turn in keys to his apartment! Friday afternoon, both people lined up to help my son move completely ghosted him! I said a prayer and opened Google to begin my search, feeling hopeless as I even did so. There were various companies that came up. One name caught my eye immediately! STARS AND STRIPES MOVERS. For obvious reasons this caught my eye as my son served in the Armed Forces! I quickly call the number and JON, the owner, operations and logistics manager answers the phone. I begin to just honestly tell him the story about my son and me, our circumstances and why he was moving home to NC. From the moment he began talking, he had such a commanding voice, but one filled with such care and compassion. ???? He began asking me the specifics of the move for my son the next morning. My son’s reservation to pick up his U-haul was at 10am. Jon was going through his list of moves for the next day and asked me if my son was able to get the U-haul earlier. I think Jon intuitively felt my anxiety rising and in such a kind and compassionate voice said, “Meleah, we ARE going to get this figured out one way or another… and we will make this happen!” I think you could have picked my jaw up off the ground!! My son was able to change his reservation to earlier in the morning so I immediately called Jon back. He said that he could have 2 guys come out and help him for one hour! I quietly asked, “Jon, how much is all this going to cost us?” He replied back with the rate that it would normally be, which was far beyond our budget, but quickly followed up with saying that he felt there was a reason that God had our paths cross as well. He quoted me a rate that was right at our budget limit! INCREDIBLE! Saturday morning, Jon reached out to me personally and told me that about 90% of the ENTIRE APARTMENT was loaded into the U-haul! I was STUNNED! My son called me about 15 minutes later… He told me “… the ENTIRE APARTMENT is packed! The 2 guys packed all my stuff carefully in the U-haul, and those 2 guys that moved me ‘were the coolest guys ever!’ … and they did it all in less than a hour!” I truly and honestly cannot adequately put into words how JON at “Stars and Stripes Movers” not only saved the day for us in so many ways, but was so kind and compassionate the entire way throughout this experience! I honestly cannot recommend this moving company more! Not only because the movers did an excellent job, but because at the very CORE of this company’s values, they believe in doing whatever they can to actually HELP PEOPLE, even IN A CRISIS! They don’t take advantage of their situation, and in fact did the exact opposite! Jon has personally left a lasting impression on my life and I’m forever grateful for our interaction together! Jon mentioned to me that not only do they do “local moves”, but they have their trucks ship all over the East Coast! BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE Stars and Stripes Movers are a FARCE! They changed my moving date not once but twice. Then were nine hours late to show up for loading. They arrived after 8:00 PM and did not finish loading until after midnight. Jon assured me that the two man crew (paid for three man crew) would load and unload all on the same day. That did not happen, I waited another twelve hours for my household belongings and car to show up. After finally arriving I was informed that my moving price had gone UP SUBSTANTIALLY. I had no recourse but to pay him. He was holding my belongings and car hostage. AND, he left many items at my old residence. I had to rent a van and return to pick up the items he left behind . Jon assured me that his truck was big enough to hold all my items. However he had also loaded another household on MY TRUCK taking up my space. His movers damaged my bedframe, dresser, kitchen table, antique side table filing cabinet, and many smaller items. I took pictures and video but got no response from "Jon". Finally he responded and told me he needed to debrief Charles, one of the movers. I never heard back from him. I am stuck with broken and damaged furniture and he is still out there taking advantage of people. To top it off - my movers were never veterans!!! So, they changed my moving date, did not show up on time (9 hours late), left behind many items because it was after midnight and Jon told the loaders to cut it off, damaged so many furniture items, and held my belongings hostage until I agreed to pay the additional amount. And Jon won't address my broken furniture, keeps telling me that he can't view my emailed and texted photos and video. There sure wasn't any problem viewing photos sent before the move. I needed to transport a small dog from Sorrento FL to NJ for my sister. A friend sent me the link for Stars and Stripes. John responded promptly and gave me the assurance that she would be cared for well on her trip. The driver sent us regular pics and videos to update on how she was doing. They delivered her safe and sound and happy to my sister's arms. The price was extremely reasonable and the knowledge that she was safe in the cab and not in cargo was so important. I would definitely recommend them!

Having Stars and Stripes help me move was having one less thing to worry about. John answered my call immediately and kept in contact until my move. They showed up promptly at the time stated and was very nice. I've moved multiple times in the past few years and i worry about who is coming all the time. But knowing a Marine was there settled my nerves. :) I would highly recommend.

Excellent movers! I had stars and stripes move my family and I from Tampa to Miami. I have moved before, but never this far and with this much stuff. The entire process was smooth and painless. Everything from the initial phone call and quote to the delivery went as well as I could of asked for. They even helped us assemble our stuff so we could sleep in our beds that night. I would recommend these guys to anyone moving! Best of the best.
