Don't trust these shysters with your belongings. -Peter, the sales guy assured us that he had his own business in the moving industry for many years. If he'd stayed there he wouldn't be getting his reputation trashed by this bunch of clowns. -Peter told us a single "vault" would be dedicated to storing our goods and that there was no way anything could get lost. The reviews were mostly 5-stars, so we believed him. He provided a binding quote covering the moving and a month of storage, which is a must in the moving & storage industry. -Packing day seemed to go pretty well; however, toward the end of the day, it seemed like the team's interest in logging items on the inventory waned and we had to push them to do it. That should have been a red flag. Although they were fully aware they needed to pick up from both our house and a storage unit, they failed to pack the truck properly in order fit it all in and they had to get a van to pick up the remainder. That should have been red flag #2. -Fast forward to delivery day. What a disaster! Items were broken and items were missing. A floor lamp failed to arrive and a second floor lamp arrived broken. A patio umbrella and 6-ft stepladder were destroyed. Of three etched-glass shelves in the entertainment center, only one made it. They wrapped all three in a blanket and when they picked up the blanket, two fell and broke. A custom cut piece of black galaxy granite was missing from the wine bar. How does one piece disappear, but the other two make it when they were packed together? There were also numerous boxes that disappeared. Clothing, vintage linens, and antique copper pots were among the items missing--as many as 11 boxes!!! -The inventory...watch them like a hawk. They mark everything as scratched, dented, torn, or soiled. It could have been a brand new item and they would have stated it was damaged in some way. They even listed one of the floor lamps as "carrier packed" and one as "packed by owner" when, in reality, they packed them both. -They brag that they're such great movers that Baker International sells insurance for their moves. Don't fall for it. Baker pays a max of $250/box for up to 10 boxes. Depending on your deductible, you may not get much. -To their credit, Sunset replaced the two broken etched-glass shelves. They also had a piece of granite cut to replace the one missing from the wine bar; however, they bought 3cm granite instead of 2cm and it doesn't fit and they don't want to even talk about cutting another. -They sent the delivery driver to assess the damage. When he called to report back his office, he stated that "this move was a disaster". -Two months after the move, Sunset is now claiming we are simply lying about the missing boxes and the damage. We have better things to do with our time than to harras a moving company for a few dollars. There are very few good moving companies. We looked at reviews and BBB to choose Sunset. Learn from our mistake and steer clear.

I have to give these movers and packers a a five star review, they were diligent and professional in packing and in loading and unloading all of our home furnishings and items. They insured that the sensitive items were well wrapped in protective blankets, the movers worked throughout from the moment they arrived early am to the moment they finished unloading the last items late pm. There was still some items we had agreed would also be picked up at our storage facility, it was too late to pick it up that evening but they had a truck there the next morning ready and picked up all the items I had in storage . Believe me folks I read about all the other nightmares scams with the other moving companies And I was very hesitant. However I am now glad that I went with Sunset Movers they re-instill my faith in good people...don't wait call them now!! My movers were Maurice, Emerson, Joe,Jen Thanks for a job well done guys.

At the last minute, we realized we were not properly equipped to move al of our crap into the freight trailer we ordered. There were too many heavy items, and not enough muscle. Called Sunset Moving and requested same day assistance. They not only sent a very hard working crew, but Dave and Jean and Nestor were beyond excellent at what they do. They were courteous, professional, and quite creative when it came to loading a trailer. Beyond pleased. Would definitely recommend for loading and helping you move.

Unfortunately I need to write a negative review for this operation. We used them to pack, store and move our items. Although the appearance of great care is portrayed, your items will be lost, damaged or destroyed. We had a computer desk and shelf that were destroyed, due to rough packing. Upon receiving our goods back, we had several items missing, ranging from bed rails, to a six foot ladder. A beautiful leather chair that we've had for a very long time, now has a puncture hole in the back. I understand items will get damaged, but as a company, you'd think they would try to do the right thing by the customer. They give the appearance of concern, but do not back it up with a reliable response. I can not suggest this company. I've given them many opportunities to make things right, but nothing ever happens. I am very disappointed in my decision to use Sunset, a mistake that I will have to be reminded of whenever I look at our damaged possessions. Do not make the same mistake, that we did. Pay a little extra, for a more professional job.

I can not say enough great things about my experience with Sunset moving and storage. Edgar was a pleasure to work with on the quote. Very responsive and clear. He quoted me an hourly rate for 3 guys and 1 truck which was extremely competitive, and this was 3 days before my move. My crew showed up on time and ready to work!! I moved a 3 bedroom, 2 story townhouse to the same. They moved only the heavy furniture, and I had the beds dismantled beforehand. My crew did not take a single break and ran the entire time. I was expecting at least a 6 hour move however, they got it done in 3.5 hours!!!!! I put the beds back together myself which saves a lot of time. I use Yelp all the time to read ratings, however I have never left a review until now. I was that impressed with them. So glad I did not use Yelp before hiring them. Found them through Thumbtack.
