My move was from Florida to California. Initially these guys seemed great, but there were some things that came up that left me feeling 'eh' about the whole experience. These guys use their fine print and vaguely worded contracts to their full advantage and have no bones about it and no real care how you feel about it. Once you've signed the contract you are at their mercy and they act like it. We had to redo our lease for our new place to accommodate the moving trucks arrival because they wouldn't honor what one of their employees previously stated. Instead, they leveraged a question I posed in email to their advantage. The best part of my experience was with the movers themselves. They were on time, quick, and polite. I will say this: they were less expensive then most of the places I looked at and they did get the job done within a reasonable amount of time. If you choose to go with them just understand that they record and listen to every phone call you have with them and they will use everything you say, every email you send, and every word of their contract to their advantage.

We used them this past May. We were charged fairly but it very expensive. We moved a 2 bedroom apartment to a 3 bedroom house about 5 miles away. In the move, a book case was damaged (see photo). Chunks of the top were ripped off somehow. We filed a claim as instructed. Instead of giving a refund, they offered to come pick up the bookcase, repair it and return it. The damage is on the top, so no matter what is done, it would still be noticeable. No monetary resolution was offered, even after a call back today to try and resolve the issue. Making matters worse, my wife called me to come home from work during the move because the foreman continuously hit on her. He mentioned her looks multiple times along with her body type, which made her fee uncomfortable enough to call me to come home so they could see she has a husband near by. He continued to make comments about her looks at the new house and asked for her number so he could get her a "hook up at concerts". Very unprofessional all around and overpriced for the service provided. In response to Guy: There was no attempt to extort the company. I simply called to go over the three charges on my account. They were explained and understood. I mentioned my disappointment about the bookcase and was told to contact another department. As I mentioned the bookcase would not repair in a favorable way and no alternative solution was offered. The situation with my wife's interaction with the foreman was disappointing and multiple calls were made between my wife and i during the move to ensure she felt comfortable. It wasnt agressive, but comments were made that were not professional. I felt your services were overpriced for what was offered and called today to clarify my bill, not look for a refund. That along with the damaged furniture and my wife's interaction is the reason for my review.

I will not use them . I am not sure why a * established* company does not the provide movers with credit card machines to process the payment safely . I didn't like the movers had an annoyed attitude toward the moving . Also my move was 1 mile away and the movers disappeared for an hour and 20 minutes while I was getting lunch for them. When I called he said he was still making sure the things fit in the truck . After that , the movers stopped downloading the things because I had to do pay first ( even though I was still on the clock ) , after paying 20 min while they were doing nothing , the credit card process ( phone , email , call back etc) they started to work again. I think this company doesn't not have employees ; instead this is a company that contracts people to do the job. I didn't feel ease with this company and the moving process was more like threatening and nervousness.

AVOID. In the market for a mover again, I have been unable to sleep as I am reminded of dealing with this company. I am physically ill seeing their 4.5 star rating -it brought tears to my eyes because I know it is fake. I am still suffering, 3 years later, from my nightmarish experience. FVL specializes in harassment. They blew up my phone at all hours leaving hateful, threatening messages, they sent me email threatening to sue me - even though I removed my honest, detailed review from Yelp under their threat of litigation. They were attacking me because I had booked the move (and put it on my cc) for my boyfriend at the time and HE posted HIS OWN account. I did not have control over his account of what happened. It was his condo they moved to his new home. He had every right to say what happened to him and I could not make him remove his review. He said Yelpers deserved to know the truth. Yet, daily I was harrassed and threatened. I had to hire an attorney for the harassment to stop. Imagine? All I did was book a move for my close friend because he did not have time to research and book it himself. I depended on yelp reviews and this company's stellar rating only to learn later how that rating is created. I would not be surprised to learn that all of the 5 star reviews are fake. I mean look at the 1 star reviews - especially in the not recommended section. I did not know about this section when I booked the move. They are not people who write reviews. They are people with no listed friends and only 1 review that they have ever written. Meaning in all the places those people have ever gone, only one company inspired them to join yelp and share their bitter experience. Suspiciously, they tend to follow the same pattern. Misery followed by threats. As a yelp elite, I can confirm that is EXACTLY what this company does. Please, save yourself the pain.

THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER ENDURED WITH A MOVING COMPANY. I have moved many times including from state to state. I have never received my goods with so much extensive damage. I had tables, (yes more than one) with the legs snapped completely off. I had a gorgeous and valuable rock crystal lamp that I wanted to have professionally packed. (I thought they were professionals), should have packed it myself. These movers used a single layer of bubble wrap and then put it in a box upside down with the arrow pointing the wrong way. The lamp didn't stand a chance. When I opened it the pieces fell all over the floor. They packed furniture with a single layer of blanket wrap if that. Some of my furniture had no wrap. There were no corner protectors used or any extra padding of any kind on the most fragile pieces. They lost or forgot to load a large dresser of mine. They are claiming they found it in the warehouse but I have no evidence of that as of yet. Many pieces of my furniture arrived with damage, some major, some minor. Lots of boxes were crushed. It looks as if the movers took zero care with loading, unloading and packing my items. It was really devastating to say the least. These pieces were all heirlooms from my deceased parents. Then on top of it of course they demand full payment in cash before unloading a single item. Now I see why.

DO NOT use this company. They permanently damaged an antique desk, extorted extra money at the time of the delivery and acted unethically, unprofessionally and rudely. Bad news all around. Mistakes happen. I get it. But then you have to fix them or at least TRY. They cracked a very expensive desk, deeply scratched my floors and walls, then acted like there was no problem. When I sent them detailed photos of the extensive damage, I got no reply for MONTHS. When they finally got back to me, they offered me $65. It's a $10,000 desk that has permanent damage because this jackasses don't know how to move furniture. They didn't even know which items were mine on their truck! Keep your $65 and stop acting like assholes! People deserve better.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I have moved all over the world and never had a bad experience with a moving company until now! I chose this company because I saw it had a good rating and I'm happy for all those who did have a good experience. Unfortunately, my move from Ft. Lauderdale to Concord, CA was a very unpleasant experience and even sickening. It started with taking 12 hours to pack a 1 bedroom small house! I don't think the only 2 men I had even knew how to pack! To my horror on my delivery to Concord, I had several antique pieces of furniture very damaged with one dresser completely damaged. I can't even imagine what must have happened to have had so much damage to the pieces of furniture. The packing for the most part was atrocious with a good number of fragile pieces broken and I have a box or two missing and will probably never see them again! I am in the middle of filing a claim. At this point, all I want is for a good carpenter to repair my damaged furniture. To be continued.......

I have moved ALOT and I usually move myself with a u-haul, as it is the cheapest way to go. (Who doesnt want to save money??) This time around, all of my stuff was packed and in a storage unit. I had several large items (sectional, dining table, dresser) and rather than rely on friends, it was more efficient to hire labor. I did the math, and it would have cost me about $350 to move myself with a uhaul and hired help through movinghelp.com. I called approximately ten (10) different moving companies before choosing FVL. I was quoted from $440 for the move, up to $950. Considering the entire move would take 3 hours, i thought that anything over $500 was just ridiculous. FVL has this yelp deal of $155 for $200 and it brought my quote down to $415. This fee included 3 hours of labor for 3 guys, and the transportation fee-- the labor fee is for straight labor, your travel time does not eat up your labor time. Before giving them a deposit, I did my research on FVL on Yelp, BBB, and ProtectYourMove.Org. Overall, I felt confident that I was in good hands. And I turned out to be right. On the day of the scheduled move, I was given a 2 hour window for arrival, and they showed up right at the beginning of that window which was nice. The guys (team of 3) were polite and professional, and expeditious. They loaded up the truck in about an hour (my storage unit was on the second floor). They unloaded the truck just as quickly and it was overall a very pleasant experience, and I am glad I used FVL. If I move again, I will certainly call them again, and recommend them to you for your move!

We have been very happy with this moving company. We used them for a cross-country move from Florida to Arizona this past June. Everything went very smoothly. Everything arrived ahead of schedule with no damages. This past Monday my mother-in-law used them for her cross-country move (Florida to Arizona). Again, everything went very smoothly. My husband was there assisting my mother-in-law and was very impressed with Chris. He did an excellent job! They arrived ahead of schedule. They were quick and everything went very well. After hearing many nightmare stories online about moving companies, I was very happy to have found this one. I have been very pleased with them from the first phone call to get a quote all the way through the moving process. Their prices are definitely good as well. If we move again, we would definitely want to use them!

As you can tell by my vast number of reviews, I am not the type of person who enjoys writing about my experiences. However, my experience with Forward Van Lines upset me so much that I am compelled to help prevent other people from encountering similar episodes. Below is the message I sent to their customer support team the same evening my belongings were delivered. It's been about 2-3 weeks since then, and I haven't gotten a response from them. ``` Good evening. I am a first-time Forward Van Lines customer who used your services this month for my move from Fort Lauderdale, FL, to San Francisco, CA. I would like to inform you that I had great experiences with booking and pick-up in Fort Lauderdale. However, I am disappointed with the service I received regarding today's delivery in San Francisco. Here is a list summarizing my delivery experience: - Received 2 days notice of delivery date with zero flexibility - Had to call Forward Van Lines on day of delivery to find out when drop off would happen (I called them at 11:30am, heard back at 1:30pm) - Forward Van Lines did not coordinate with my apartment complex after telling me they would handle everything (move-in time, elevator reservation, luggage cart usage). I offered to coordinate with my apartment complex, but the customer service representative from Forward Van Lines informed me that she would be calling my apartment complex to organize the delivery. The apartment concierge informed me that they had not heard from Forward Van Lines and were not expecting any movers today. My building restricts move-in time to 10am-4pm, and Forward Van Lines arrived with my belongings at 4:30pm. Fortunately the concierge in my apartment allowed the delivery anyway. - Showed up 90 minutes after the end of the arrival time window I was given, without calling to communicate tardiness - On the morning of delivery, informed me the final payment is required in the form of cash/money order/cashier's check (more than $500). I had to take time off work to make a trip to my bank to get the cashier's check. - Upon arrival, movers demanded an extra $75 cash for "long carry fee" because my apartment entrance is 75ft from the elevator door. Refused to move my things until I made a second trip to the bank to retrieve the cash. - Informed me they would keep my things overnight and charge me a holding fee if I didn't comply with any of these demands, which would force me to take another day working remote to accommodate delivery. - Only added $75 "long carry fee" to my copy of receipt, didn't update total amount paid on said receipt - Lost entire box of glassware without ever mentioning it. I hadn't noticed it was missing until after signing form that acknowledges delivery of all items (which they had me sign before they finished moving everything). The glassware has significant sentimental value for me, so this is my primary concern regarding the service despite all of the other items on this list. - Several fragile items in other boxes arrived damaged and/or broken, despite me packing fragile items with acute precaution and immoderate amounts of bubblewrap and dividers. Perhaps this is due to Forward Van Lines stuffing everything into the bed of a pickup truck and strapping it down tightly enough to severely distort the shape most of the boxes Is this the quality of service I should expect when working with Forward Van Lines? ```

Chance and the guys were exactly what I was hoping for. They were punctual, polite, VERY CAREFUL, asked me questions when they needed clarification. Chance is an excellent foreman. He communicated very well with his team and they look to him for guidance when they weren't sure about anything which wasn't often. He made me feel at ease with the prepping my items for loading and assured me that they'd do there very best to ensure everything was safe and secure. Chance and his team were very organized and timely. It did not take them a long time to get the items loaded. Chance made sure I understood everything and answered all of my questions. Even when I wasn't sure what to do, he made very helpful suggestion to aid me in my decision. If you want a moving company that you can trust and a team you trust even more, go with Forward and ask for Chance and his team.

No complaints. The only thing is that I was told that I can add extra things to the moving truck because I'm only getting charged for labor (said the sales agent over the phone). When the guys showed up I told them I wanted to add a few more boxes and they said "we'll have to call that in and get a new quote, or we can Work something out"..... I reminded him I was quoted for LABOR not per box and he said "oh ok ok". Seems like the movers wanted to make some quick cash on the side from me. But other then that, no complaints, they were quick, prepared, and knew what they were doing. I'd use them again.

10 Stars!! I know that's not an option but mentally multiply my 5 star rating by 2. First, I want to thank my fellow Yelpers that reviewed Forward Van Lines, because ultimately that's how I found them. I was moving from FL to MA, and needed my stuff packed carefully, stored and my precious baby (my car) shipped up to me, because I'm not one for making long distance drives. Nirva, Roy and Ben helped me coordinate everything. They were so very professional and prompt with processing my down payment and getting all of the correct info to me and my mom. On moving day, Mike, Dave and Travis came to move me out and they were awesome. So sweet and professional. They wrapped my furniture up perfectly (see my uploaded video) and moved me out in about 2 hours. They worked super quick and well together. It put me at so much ease where I was able to kick back and watch TV on my IPad. And they were even friendly enough to laugh at my corny jokes. Score! Forward Van Lines uses a contractor to transport vehicles called GLG Cars. He (can't remember his name sorry) came the next day to the hotel I was staying at and picked up my car hassle free in the hotel parking lot. About a week later my car was dropped off in front of my house just as nicely as could be. I was worried at how the drive would be from FL to MA, because of the weather, but all was well. I am so very pleased with this company and they're level of professionalism and exceptional customer service that I highly recommend them for your next move.

Incredible, fantastic, reliable, professional, honest, fare pricing and better than all the rest. I just sold my house and moved from Miami Florida to Sun City AZ and could not have chosen a better moving company than Forward Can Lines. They made the move simple for me to understand, they have a terrific inventory system that is well thought out and each and every item of my 201 items was numbered specific to my load by color coding. Every item was carefully protected as they said they would do when I got the quote and they came under price from all the rest. I can recommend this company without hesitation. Rest assured your life will be less stressful about moving if you use them Donna Q.

We hired these guys for our move from south Florida to Pennsylvania and I cannot tell you how AMAZING they did! Aaron, our Forman was there for both pick up and delivery and was beyond anything we could have ever expected! Aaron and his crew came on time, with a large crew and packaged everything perfectly. On both ends the crew was extremely polite, professional, and most of all hard working. Our stuff arrived on the early end of our delivery date (which is amazing) and not one item was damaged! Everything was beyond our expectations and Aaron in particular was the absolute best. If your looking to move, USE this company... and if your super lucky you'll get Aaron!

Cris Baena and his crew were amazing. Very professional, packed everything up for me nicely, nothing broke and they were great about placing everything where I wanted in the new place too. Pricing was also half what I was quoted around town. This is the 2nd time I have used them and they done nickel and dime you with extra charges. John Clement
