I am a twenty year Army spouse, and as you can imagine, I have moved more times in my life than I can count. My experience with Hilldrup was by far the best I've ever had with multiple moving companies! Their quote was the better price of the estimates that I received, thank you Hilldrup for your great services!

Rick Locke is a con artist, liar, and thief. He had me prepay over $4,000.00 to move. His estimation of the storage unit and truck for the job was absolutely wrong. Rick doesn't own any trucks. The company that came to do the job was a third party independent contractor that rented a truck. The three guys that showed up to do the job were unprofessional, aggressive, and rude. They had the "I just got out of prison and now I'm doing this" look and attitude 100%. They only moved 85% of the house and then left without completing the job because their truck was too small. Thus, we had to make additional moving arrangements which cost an additional $3,600.00 (we didn't use Rick the Con Man again). I reached out to Rick to try to fix the situation, he basically told me he didn't care and "it is what it is." I called him again and sent him photos of a very unorganized packing and delivery (and the overall nightmare that was delivered to me). He ignored me and didn't returned my calls. Thus, it is easily observed that after he has your money, you'll receive ZERO customer service if anything goes wrong (which is inevitable with Rick. Stay away from Rick Locke the Con Man.

This is the worst company I've ever had the displeasure dealing with very dishonest ! They say anything to get the job and then the lies start. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. Used them end of April beginning of May and it was the worst experience I've ever had with a business. They came to give me a bid and I told them we need to look at my jet skis because if they can't take them there's no use in looking at anything else at that point the salesman said yes they can take them. I had other bids from other company's and they would take them to so we continued with the bid there price at that time was competitive with the others then came moving day and the mover shows up and again take him straight to the skis he tells me he can't take them. I immediately called my moving coordinator and was told that it would be taken care of. 4 hours later I had to call to see what was going on and was told they were not on the moving sheet please keep in mind that myself and my wife both scrutinized the paperwork before signing online. After that phone call we both looked at the paperwork again and suddenly there were no jet skis and a camper top was there which I did not own a camper top. This was very stressful to us as they already picked up the only vehicle I owned to tow them and also had no driver for it then got a call from the salesman saying it would be over $ 4000.00 to take them I certainly was not about to give them any more money. The only good thing was I had great neighbors and they let me leave them with them. If you're thinking about using this company do not sign anything online and do some research of reviews very untrustworthy company.

I had a wonderful experience with Hilldrup - from my initial contact with them through the packing stage. The personnel were very friendly, courteous,knowledgeable and attentive. I could not have asked for a better experience!! I highly recommend hilldrup!

After years of avoiding Yelp, I have made an account today just to review Hilldrup. This is the fifth time myself or anyone from my family has used Hilldrup to move (the second time I personally have used them). If we were to have rated them for the previous moves, I'm sure we would have given them 4 or 5 stars. However, this last move, a move of only TWO BLOCKS, has been a pain in the ass, to say the least. It is also the first time any furniture has been damaged in a move, and the first time anyone has tried to use their Hilldrup insurance. That little factor is the only difference between a five star experience with Hilldrup and a one star experience with Hilldrup. My antique Ethan Allen desk and dressers and an Aaron Brothers picture frame were all damaged durning the move. The movers did not pack nor care for my things the same way they would have for a longer move, and my belongings paid the price. I felt okay, though, knowing I purchased the best (read: most expensive) insurance policy possible from Hilldrup. It has now been over two months of these mother******s trying to nickel and dime me on the cost of repairs for the dressers. Today I called the second repair guy the sent for an estimate, and it turns out they were LYING about what they said he told them. They'd been saying he said the damage wasn't from moving, when if fact he said the damage WAS from moving. I wouldn't have ever known that if I hadn't called him myself, because I trusted Hilldrup. What the hell, Hilldrup? You've just wasted two months of my time, made my family and me insanely frustrated with you, and I'm now going to report you to the Attorney General and BBB. You suck.
