Lugg provides the worse customer service and support! This is one of those companies who hide behind an App only (no way to speak to anyone EVER!). Customer service is solely via email. When they do respond, it is only with robotic sounding email messages with no consideration of the details or points you make. They will ask you repeatedly to provide the same information you have already provided in detail, with the hope, I imagine, of wearing you down. The luggers damaged our item and so far they are being dodgy in reimbursing us even after acknowledging fault and agreeing to compensate us. Their focus is to take you in circles and not pay out on their damages. The guys who work on the trucks daily may be fine but the company itself is a sham when it comes to living up to their responsibilities and being accountable. Avoid these guys at all cost! What's important with any enterprise is how they behave when things go awry, not when all is perfect and no action needed.
I've used Lugg twice. Once to pick up a couch from Pacifica to Outer Sunset. The other to pick up a cabinet from Lower Nob Hill to Cole Valley. I chose the pick up truck for both moves which is a $37 base fare. After labor expenses from pickup and destination, and miles the total charge was $119 and $132 respectively. For one piece of furniture. I've moved three times in the last two years and hired local movers. They charged $95 an hour and moved a whole bedroom for me. I don't think this company is worth the cost. It's way too expensive and I've recommended them to many people. Unfortunately that will stop.
For small moves, these guys are the best. I could not have asked for a better experience. Moving companies tend to have a minimum sometimes up to $500 for any amount of goods move. In my case with only a rug and a sofa move of only about 6 miles, I ended up paying just under a $100 plus cash tip. Fastest easiest move ever. Thanks to Francisco and Williams for making this the best experience.
Pottery Barn recommended that I contact Lugg to have a few small pieces of furniture and rug picked up and delivered. The "luggs" were late, were out of shape and won't remove packaging for you. Lesson learned, will go back to hiring one of the better local moving companies, many of which offer furniture pick up and delivery service.
I used lugg twice and both times went great. I moved a room full of items from within SF both times and it cost about $200. Both times the luggers were prompt and professional and I had no issues.
