DO NOT HIRE THESE MOVERS! I thought I did my research and neglected to look at the other 1-star reviews and found ourselves horribly disappointed, over budget and with damaged furniture after our move with NorthStarMoving on November 2nd 2019. We were originally given a window of arrival between 8am and 10am and to expect a call 20-30 minutes out from arrival. At 9:40am I called the 1-800 # and the dispatch said they would have the crew get in touch with me. Caleb our foreman did not call until 10:05am and was already onsite with no pre-call. The movers did not physically start moving until 10:35am. This then decreased the amount of time we had access to the elevator near our apartment. The crew moved extremely slow, often times finding them socializing at the back of the truck while we had furniture that needed to be wrapped. We also found it extremely unprofessional one of the movers openly bragging about all the 'millionaires' they move, how many pot plants they had, and that the company would be moving Antonio Brown in the near future. The last piece to leave our apartment was a solid Koa oak dining table that the crew did NOT wrap. Keep in mind, they took time to wrap a $100 snowboard but not our $4K dining table. The table was one of the items damaged in the move. The same behavior ensued upon arrival to our new location. The crew moved extremely slow and we often found them socializing around the truck. The truck was also packed with no tie down straps and furniture could move around freely while driving. Three items were damaged in the move: 1.) scuffs to the bottom panel of our cherry wood dresser (this portion was not wrapped during the move) 2.) gash to the leg of our oak dining table, this entire piece of furniture was not wrapped. 3.) dirt stain to side panel of couch, this portion was also not wrapped. Secondly, the crew left litter around our building. This includes tape they left on the doors, empty beverage bottles, and spilled our dog food in the lobby and did not clean up. Insult to injury was when the foreman, Caleb, asked us to write a Yelp review when we were charged for 7.5 hours to move a one-bedroom apartment, totaling $1100. WHAT A RIP OFF. We did this exact same move last year, moving from San Francisco to Redwood City and the total time was only 3 hours including drive time. Our previous movers also packed up our entire kitchen, something NorthStar did not have to do. My pre-move conversation with Beatriz did not mention double drive time either. This move ended up taking much longer than expected and was more than what we budgeted for After issuing complaint and claims forms with Wendy Paola and Jason Gonzales we have heard NOTHING from the company.

After I posted my review, Wendy reached out to me right away. She felt bad about my experience and wanted to make it right as best she could, given that it was an admittedly unusual situation. We couldn't file a claim for the missing/damaged items, but she offered to reimburse me a small amount, which I appreciated. She was willing to pay for a replacement shelf through Crate & Barrel for my desk, but unfortunately they no longer make that item, so there was no way to get an original part. I appreciated her willingness to help me, clear communication, and attention to customer service.

My favorite moving team of all time! Arrived on time, loaded everything in an expeditious manner and were fast and efficient. They unloaded everything quickly and without any hiccups. I would love to have the same team move us in the future! JW - San Pablo, CA

Scheduled a move a week in advance. Originally gave me an afternoon time slot (not ideal for me) but the day before, called me to ask if I'd like a mornin slot instead. This worked out much better. The move itself was handled well. The workers were efficient in figuring out what needed to be done, and were finished in less than 3 hours. They were also pretty considerate of parking, seeing as there was no designated loading area for my apartment building and I moved from a small cul de sac.

Best move experience ever! Marlon and his team came on-site on time and ready! The team was courteous and very professional. We were barely packed but they have a good system. All the boxes that we boxed ourselves - no brainer. But the stuff that was unpacked, they took care of! Brought boxes, wrapped fragile items with cushion and padding. They even got my washer and dryer moved! They were also not slacking. The team was snappy and was on point with all instructions, did not waste time. I'll definitely recommend them if you need anything professionally transferred! They made the entire process easy!
