Better call a couple of friends to help you out! I called you move me, someone came to my house and gave me a quote considering the amount of furniture and stuff. Before the scheduled date, I sold and gave away some furniture so the moving would be faster and hopefully less expensive. The moving day, 3 guys arrived, right on time on time. I explained what needed to be moved room by room and they started asap. They seemed to know the business and seemed pretty effective. I even gave them specific tools to disassemble furniture. At the end, almost as planned, time-wise, they said they already packed everything and were ready to go. We trusted them and left. When we arrived home they were fast as well although they seemed now more in a rush as we saw some labeled boxes clearly out of place. They tried to assemble everything back together, took off some doors, then back in, etc... we even gave them a tv with the tip. As soon as they left we saw more heavy boxes out of place and when we went back to the former house we realized they left behind the special tools I gave them, the tvs' remote controls, furniture, boxes, frames on walls... and even tools of their own! We has to take a couple of extra trips on our big suv to move the remaining stuff. At the end of the service they charged us more than quoted without sending a receipt or any detailed invoice. I complained via email, they just said "sorry for the inconvenience" came to pick up their drill and after a second and third email they sent back the invoice and kind of explaining why the rate ended up higher. If you call a couple of friends, it might not be as fast as these guys, but at least you won't pay 2,000 usd and then get pissed off when you realize you have to take 2 extra trips in your suv to move what was left behind!

2.0 star rating 8/7/2017 Ulises was my contact and while it started well it didn't end well. When he passed me off to Matt on the Honolulu side he was no help when I expressed my concern about Matt's lack of responsiveness. My client received a box which wasn't theirs and are missing several items. The situation was reported on June 8 and it wasn't until July 21 we were informed that there was a packing error and nothing could be done to find the items. When I responded to the email to ask about getting a refund no response was given. As of today I still have not received a response. The corporate office of YouMoveMe has been equally unresponsive and although I called to have a complaint filed and was told someone would get back to me in 48 business hours I received no call. Furthermore, when I called back there was no record of an open claim on file. Completely unacceptable for a "high-end" diamond certified business. Not sure how they received this rating.

I cannot believe this company has more than a 1 star rating on Yelp. I had a horrible experience and my move became a huge debacle. Quickly: 1.) absolute idiots for movers -- couldn't follow simple instructions, brought things out the wrong door, stacked small heavy boxes (e.g. books) on top of soft large boxes (e.g. lamp shades, ruining several expensive items), every idea the team manager had was just really dumb, sorry, but he thought that if he was forceful enough, he'd be more convincing 2.) I called ahead several times explaining my move and asked them to bring a big enough truck, enough supplies and strong movers for several heavy bulky items, oh but no, this company failed on each and every one of my pre-requests, which resulted in my having to cut the move short and take an entire extra day (with other movers, thank God) to finish my move 3.) They charged me $207 per hour for 3 movers and a truck (with no lift gate). Ok that is about double the going rate for better movers (look around and see for yourself). What a scam! When I complained about the cost and my poor service, they never even responded, just blew me off. DO NOT use this company! Sure the girls at the main office number seem nice, but the cast of characters that show up at your door is another matter entirely. AVOID!!!!

This is a franchise moving company that partners with 1-800-got-junk. This franchise area is only 3 years new/old, and most of their employees are young and get along well with one another. I worked with the YouMoveMe franchise Manager Ulises for the San Leandro area. Ulises was a great point of contact to work with. This is my very first time using a moving company, specifically for the big furniture items. I had priced at least 5 different moving companies out and Ulises really cares about his employees, and convinced me to book with his company after I had already secured a date/time with another company because he was willing to price match the deal that I was quoted. I liked that he looks out for his employees and wanted to keep his crew busy during the holiday in order for them to meet their goals for the year. He seems like a good manager who takes good care of his employees. Ulises came out to our house and gave us a quote, he was very easy to work with, very personable, and responsive (very responsive). On the day of the move, I was only supposed to get 4 men, but Ulises provided 6 men as a courtesy to get the crew going (thank you!). Since I was out of town for the day of the move, my family members were on site and said the crew was VERY nice and professional. When I got home, I personally thought that they did a great job with the move. My house was in great condition, no real major property damage. The only issue we encountered was that they damaged my office computer work desk during the move, and I was told it may take 1-2 days to have it fixed, but it actually took 1 week. It wouldn't have bothered me if I didn't actually need it turned around faster, but I did (minus 1/2 star for that). One frustration I had with miscommunication is that, during Ulises' visit out to our home, he stated that our son's crib would be disassembled and reassembled, but all they ask is for the parents to tighten up the screws to ensure it is reassembled properly (for safety purposes, which is understandable). However, when I got home, the crib was NOT reassembled and my family member on site indicated that one of the crew members informed my family that they are NOT allowed to reassemble cribs due to safety purposes. Mixed information! It was very frustrating to return home from vacation and having to figure out which box contained the instructions on how to assemble our son's crib, in addition to which box contained our tools for it (minus 1/2 star for that). Regardless of the above, I would still highly recommend them because the crew did a great job and we are only human, so things are bound to happen. I am still a satisfied customer overall.

We just had a crew from San Rafael move us from one 4 bedroom house to another in Oakland, and had an overall great experience! We split the time into a packing day and a moving day, and they showed up early for both. The guys were super friendly, courteous, respectful, and worked well together. We had them pack up all the pain in the ass stuff like the kitchen and all the other fragile items, and everything came through unscathed. Whereas you normally think of moving as this dreadful event you want to avoid at all costs, this one was actually even a little fun! A few weird things: The original estimate was about 40% more than the actual cost, which made it hard to determine ahead of time just how much we wanted them to do for us. Also, the manager Ulises had told us over the phone that they'd be giving us an extra guy for free (either bringing 4 and charging for 3, or bringing 5 and charging for 4), but they ended up bringing 3 and charging far 3. That was fine and the guys still managed to beat the estimate by 5 hours but again it was just unnecessary and a little weird. And finally, we had originally scheduled the move for Saturday (via the national call center) but the regional manager later called and said there was a mistake and we'd have to split the time between Fri/Sat, taking the end of Sat after all the originally booked customers were done. But then in reality we ended up getting the first slot on Saturday morning anyway. So I don't know what's going on there, but it all worked out well anyway. Also, they're a bit on the pricier side but it was all worth it as we had a great overall experience and would use them again in the future!
