I've come back to update my review. Finally relocated across country and had my belongings unloaded and unwrapped today and nothing was broken. I saw the other reviews that said the way the company packs belongings is poor. I'm sorry they had that experience but we didn't. I still highly recommend this company because my items (most notably my glass table) were packed properly so they arrived safely and unbroken.

At best this company is completely rude and incompetent. At worst they are liars and scam artists. Under no circumstances should they be allowed to operate. Do not user this company for your move. I was thrown into their clutches by American Van Lines who uses them as a contract company. 1st choice movers showed up late with just the driver for a 3 bedroom house. They had to come back the next day instead with two day laborers (not professionals). They drove our stuff from Alabama to Virginia. Then they claim the driver had an emergency and drove our things from a city 20 minutes from our house hundreds of miles back to Jacksonville Florida!!!! Then they found another driver a couple days later. He apparently made it partway and then went back once again to Jacksonville Florida (apparently because of bad brakes in which case I am not sure how that made sense if the truck was dangerous to drive and why wouldn't you check the breaks before leaving unless you don't care about your employees or your clients?)!!! Two days later they had to transfer my stuff to another truck. They gave me a window in the morning and proceeded, of course, not to show up during that window claiming a shuttle truck was not available. Did you ever hear of planning ahead? Can you even do a single thing right? From rogue employees to repeatedly broken trucks to broken promises, everything this company says is a lie. Moreover, their employees are extremely vile and rude. Theresa Williams even hung up on me mid-call when I asked why they missed their delivery time for the millionth time. Of course, they have called or written to me at least three times demanding their money - they are very good at that.

I originally chose this company based on pricing and how quick they could accommodate my move. After I verbally committed to their services, I was told they would call me the day before my move to make sure everything was set for the following day- great. I woke up the following day expecting to get a call ahead time of exactly when they would arrive. After 30 min of my expected "window time". I called in to see what the eta would be. A woman answered the call and seemed rather annoyed that I was even calling since they gave me a 2 hour window. After assuring me I was the next move- I waited 45 min past my window time and called again. This time they told me they could not move me and they would only offer 10% off for the following day. They could not even give me a courtesy call to let me know they could not accommodate. I wasted an entire day waiting for them and to be told it would only be 10% off? Totally unacceptable. I would not recommend this company for anyone.

This company gets 1 star because that is as low as I can go. If I cvould give them a negative 5 I would. They moved my elderly parents and everything is broken. The movers were insane (literally). Please do your homework before hiring this company.

This has been a horrible experience! My china cabinet was damaged, my calls were not returned when they said they would, the weekend truck arrived HOURS later than the office told me it was scheduled, they didn't deliver all my belongings when they came. I was offered excuses but no urgency to get the items to me that were missing from the delivery, I had to wait on them to find a week that suite their schedule. Additionally, the office manager, Teresa, will not stop talking for 2 seconds to allow you to speak! I will never use this company again, if you do, good luck! Reply: $300 discount was offered to have my business in the beginning when deciding which company to go with. 1 month free storage was offered in beginning, these were not things used because for sour business. Yes, the repair man was great but what a shame to have had to have someone repair my belongings entrusted to another. 1st choice movers misquoted the pool table and paid the difference in the misquote, any business professional should have made their word good. Again, not a happy customer and this is my review.

Do not use this company. We used them for a move from Jacksonville to Tampa based on the affordable price. The movers were quick about loading things into our storage unit, and we didn't see any immediate issues; however, when we moved out of the storage unit, we noticed that all of our furniture was dinged and marked. Our couch was completely ripped. They failed to wrap our wooden furniture (farmer's table, etc.) and completely broke a desk. We did not realize these things were broken and ripped until we moved out due to the way they were loaded into the storage unit. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Update based on response from company: There must be some type of miscommunication that occurred because we were not offered paper pads. We did choose the company based on price, and we did refuse the expensive pads but were not offered "standard" paper pads. We are not so cheap that we would not follow whatever standard protocol is, despite what you're implying. We don't expect the company to do anything; however, we don't want others to go through what we experienced.

I had a rough experience with an employee in the office but the movers were great. The owner reached out to me and apologized for the one employee. After speaking with the owner I will use them again for my next move. Description of work: I moved from a 2/1 apartment to a slightly bigger 2/2 apartment. No appliances, the couch and loveseat are basic with no recliners or hide-a-beds. Queen and full size beds. Basic stuff from a single person living alone.

Devin and Justin were the best! They helped move heavy furniture as well as numerous household items in my garage. I would highly recommend this company and hope to use their services again in the future. Their rates were very reasonable too!

Frustrating, dishonest, and disorganized company. I used Old Baymeadows Moving and Storage on Saturday 11/2. They were supposed to show up at my house between 8-9 am. They called me at 9:00 and said a driver "didn't show up because of a family emergency"...but that they were looking for someone for me. I didn't hear from them until 11:00 when I CALLED THEM BACK. At this point, the operator told me "we don't move in the rain." He explained that's why nobody showed up and said they would have a driver at my house between 12 and 1. Why did I get 2 different stories unless someone was lying to me? I asked him for a discount because of the delay (and that I had to reschedule my entire day) and he said "NO, but maybe your driver will help you out and round down on the time." RIDICULOUS. Movers showed up at 12:15 (over 3 hours late) and one of them didn't seem to have a clue what he was doing. The other mover (the driver) had to keep directing him and telling him to take stuff back into the house. On the way to the new house, the back door of the moving truck opened up not once...BUT TWICE and they had to stop in the middle of the road to close it (tie it down with nylon string). The move was complete at 4:30 at which point the driver tried to charge me for 4.5 hours instead of 4.25 hours. SO NOT ONLY DID HE NOT ROUND DOWN...HE ROUNDED UP AND TRIED TO CHARGE ME MORE! I made him call back to the office and he changed the charge to 4.25 hours. I WOULD NOT deal with this company again. They are dishonest, disorganized which is a bad combination when dealing with all of someone's worldly belongings.
