These guys are amazing!! This was my first time using movers. I got a job offer in Fort Myers and the turn around was very quick. I had been living in my 1600 sqft condo for 6 years and knew I needed a trustworthy company that could handle all mine and my boyfriend's stuff - especially moving from Orlando to Fort Myers. We also had the unusual circumstance of scheduling the move on the exact day that Hurricane Matthew was projected to hit - obviously not intentional. THESE GUYS WERE GREAT! Phil not only really worked with me and really helped me in terms of understanding what was going to happen, but we were able to load the truck Thursday morning before the storm so we could leave and stay at my parents in Sarasota on the safe side of the state. We were uncertain on whether or not the storm would not allow them to deliver it to us in Fort Myers that Friday, but low and behold, they came! And they came on time! Then, on another note, we were putting our bed together that Friday evening and realized a piece was missing. We kinda chalked it off to - okay, nothing is every completely smooth in life and that we would have to make the trip to Ikea in Sunrise to pick up the extra piece. That Sunday, Phil called and said they found it. He shipped it right to us! They were amazing and the best deal around. I highly highly recommend! Wonderful business.

I can not discourage anyone more that one star about using this mover. One of the employees sent to my house negligently dropped a year old $900 dryer down a flight of stairs attempting to move it on his own, using a standard hand truck with no straps. Not only did this destroy the dryer, but it also significantly damaged the rental home I was in. The comment from the employee was "I am sorry, I guess I just bought you a new dryer." I would have been okay with that outcome. Instead after a week of getting a run around with no straight answer from movers office, I find out I will be getting about a $70 settlement from them. This is not acceptable. Had the dryer simply been damaged from an accident it would be one thing, but this was negligence and unsafe work practices that caused this damage. The employee who dropped the dryer also stated I would be getting replacement. If you want your move to be a nightmare and have your possessions damaged, by all means use this mover. Otherwise I would suggest you keep scrolling by.

We had our move scheduled 3 weeks in advance. The day of, they called 2 hours after our scheduled time and told us they could not accommodate us on our scheduled day and moved it to the next morning first thing. Again we didnt receive a call so we had to reach out, and then find out they couldnt accommodate us at all for the next two weeks. Terrible communication we had to scramble to find someone else the day of our move.

Will definitely use American Movers again and recommend them. They were very quick and carefully took care of my things. Additionally very friendly guys who can be trusted. They helped me dismount the tv from the wall which I didn't know how to do without breaking it and wrapped up my furniture for me. The price was great. Thanks guys! You made my move so much easier!!

I had been speaking to this company for about a month. They told me the price was $75/hour. I confirmed that I only had about 6 items to move. He finally reached out less than 24 hours before the move to tell me the price had tripled and it was my fault because of my location. Complete disgrace of a company, highly discourage!

Great experience! Phil, the owner, is very professional and the movers, Jeff and Richard were on time, hard working and pleasant. The price was VERY reasonable, I thought it would cost more. I will refer them and use them again.

The guy that helped pack our truck damaged our dresser. The mover Jason strapped our $700 dresser to a hand truck and bounced it down the two flights of stairs. It took chunks out of the dresser. The other mover told him not to do it but he did it anyway. Jason completely ignore the other mover multiple times when he told him he was going to damage our furniture. Phil the owner did not respond to my messages about the damaged furniture. I hired him through Thumbtack and they sent him a dispute and he didn't even respond to them until the "escalated it". Stay away from this company unless you want your furniture destroyed.

Probably closer to 3 stars then 2, but given the sour taste in mouth after move, bumps down to a 2. That was a $375 move....not worth it given the experience. We've moved 3 times in the past 3 years. I've held off writing reviews b/c didn't really have anything to compare against. But, now with 2 other moving companies to compare against, I must say I'm a bit disappointed with this company. We went with Phil b/c he just seemed so likeable/knowledgable on the phone when we tried our second move back in October. He tried to get us to use him instead of one of the big movers coming from the NJ area. I told him when we got down here, we'd try him when we relocated to our next place b/c the pricing didn't work out to rent a one way truck coming down from NYC. Moving forward to this past Sunday. We were charged $75 for the truck and then $75 per hour for 2 man moving services. The guys (Justin and RIchard) arrived pretty much on time. This was when some flags started coming up. -They charge by the hour, but didn't bring any power tools. The ikea crib they took apart took as long as if I would have done it myself. I would have taken it apart if I knew they did not have any power tools. -They wrapped up some of the furniture w/ plastic wrap and padding. That's good. Except, that they didn't do it with the ikea bookshelves...which of course, were the only things that didn't survive the move. I should have known after watching the first movers do it that there was something wrong here. When my wife asked them to move the 3 piece bookshelf all the way to the left, one guy decided to go to the other side and just try to push all 3 at the same time. Not sure if that was the smartest w/ the ikea furniture, but I guess that's why they don't guarantee that it would survive the move. Looks like we're getting new bookshelves. -Sloppy. On our dresser. They had wrapped in wrap, but decided instead of removing the wrap before putting the mirror back on it, might as well just screw it and go thru the plastic. Oh yeah, we didn't bring any plastic bags, so we might have lost a couple of nails, so let's just leave one side of the mirror unattached. I didn't see this until later in the day when we realized they hadn't unwrapped any of the furniture. I guess that makes sense. That's how come we didn't know the bookshelf wouldn't actually hold anything until they had left. -This was what actually got me the most angry. They left our home in Baldwin Park to drop off furniture in Lake Nona at 1:40. It takes usually 30 mins to get there, and 40 mins if you drive local. We left at a good 10 minutes after them, and was actually sweating that we'd be late to allow them into the other side. No worries. After waiting 5 more minutes, I called them, and found out that they were still on the highway, and a good 10-15 minutes away. So...I called the boss to ask what was up. At 2:35, they pulled into up to the gate of the community for me to let them in. We arrived at the home at 2:38, or basically a full hour later. The guy mumbled something about traffic and not having ezpass for toll. (Come on man, just own up to the fact that you stopped somewhere for 20-30 minutes for a break...it's pretty obvious). Anyway, they charged us fully for the 4 hours the move had taken. This included: -an hour of driving (more than double what it took me to get there) -over an hr of taking apart and putting together furniture (I just told them to stop putting together crib/bed at a point...) Prior Moving experiences: First move was from Brooklyn NY to NJ. Guys showed up on time, worked hard and efficient. Did a 5 floor walk up on one side of the move, and did a great job on the move. Some things were broken like a few glasses (but those were my fault b/c I packed them wrong), but all our furniture made it intact, and nothing was lost. The move took 6 hrs, and we ended up tipping the two guys that worked $40 a piece b/c they were so professional about doing their jobs. Great communication all around. It was supposed to be a small job, but ended up a lot longer b/c I had never used movers before and underestimated the amount of thins we had). (NYcityVAN- which I will now go write an update on them now that I've had 3 experiences, 5 stars easily). Second move was from NJ to FL. Long distance move. We were quoted around $4k for the move (which was on the lower end of what was being quoted to us (up to $7k in some instances). The guy who did the quote, David was probably the most realistic/honest moving guy I've dealt with. The driver (totally blanking on his name, but he was awesome as was his help on both ends) was held up by the unrealistic flooding in South Carolina on the drive down which was totally understandable. If I remember right, we also tipped them a good amount on both sides b/c of all the care they showed during the move. (Liberty Moving and Storage - also 5 stars).

I called well in advance to schedule a move first thing in the morning due to my work schedule. Never got a confirmation call back, so I had to call them. Found out they moved my move time without telling me. Totally screwed me over the day before my move so I would not recommend using them. Had to scramble and call 5 different places to try to get something else and have to postpone it five days.

This was the first time I have ever used a moving company. I have heard so many horror stories about moving so to me it never seamed worth it to place a high stress day into the hands of a stranger. However time and stress won this time and we knew we needed professional help. I can not tell you how happy we were with the level of service, hard work and friendliness we received before and on moving day. We had booked a 9am move at 8:55 the gate called first happy surprise the movers were on time. Quick friendly introductions and a productive assessment of the space and what needed moved was followed my nothing but action and hard work. We ran into a slight glitch due to some new regulations in the old apartment building and all was handled with ease and patience. If you are considering using a mover I think you will be really happy after you use American movers.

First time using a moving company and I was not disappointed Phil and Justin arrived promptly and made light work if my mountain of furniture they were extremely professional and took great care of all belongings. Once it was loaded they arrived at the new destination promptly and were unpacked in a very short time including tackling stairs. They were much cheaper than any other company in orlando and did a brilliant job I will definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone looking for movers Thanks American Movers!

I had a great experience with American Movers when they recently helped us pack our POD for a cross country move. Phil was really nice and informative on the phone and gave us the best quote around. His movers arrived right on time and worked fast. Our POD was perfectly packed, like tetris pieces! When it arrived to our destination (2500 miles away) everything was still perfectly in place. It was impressive. These are experienced movers and I would definitely recommend them!

Easiest 5-star review I've ever given! Phil, Aaron and the whole team are not only really professional and efficient movers, but after talking with them for 5 minutes, you know that they are guys that you can trust. My parents-in-law moved to Queens, NY about 5 years ago from Winter Garden, FL to be closer to my wife and her sister. For years, their furniture and other knick-knacks sat in storage and while conversations had been had about flying down and driving it all back up, it never happened. We decided once and for all to get it done and find a mover that can help us. Of all the movers I looked into, only American Movers Orlando had consistently top reviews (e.g. Thumbtack, Yellow Pages, etc.) and everyone said the same thing: "very friendly, efficient, and fast". My parents-in-law were still a little hesitant, since we would not be able to fly down to Florida to meet them for the move; however, after talking with them, they were convinced that we could trust them and we went ahead with the move even without us there (a friend of my parents-in-law was able to go to let them into the storage). When they arrived in New York, all the stuff was packed well and in great shape and they moved it quickly into our new unit. Thanks guys! Hope to find a reason to work together again.

Recommended to me by my sister they did a great job for her. Phil was quick to answer calls and all my questions. My movers were Hoss and Brandon. Hoss has a great attitude and lots of energy. They packed the truck and my house like it Tetris game. Highly recommend.

I have never in my life been compelled to write a negative review, but my experience with American Movers was HORRIFIC! I contacted Phil, the owner right after my move to address my issues with his employees and gave him the chance to make things right before I gave my honest review of his company and my experience but instead he responded with the most generic apology I have ever seen. First off, I did the SAME EXACT move 3 months ago. It was half a mile away for a 1 bedroom apartment. It took my past movers and hour and twenty minutes, but took Phil's guys almost 4 hours! My past movers were booked on the day of my move, so once I saw Phil's great reviews online I decided to hire him. He seemed like a nice guy on the phone and explained everything to me in detail and it seemed pretty easy and stress free. I did however think it was weird that there was no contract or deposit involved so that should have been the first red flag. The two movers who arrived were completely unprofessional and looked like they were just picked up off the streets and still drunk from the night before. They were not wearing the proper attire to move and neither of them could even walk straight. One of the movers who was actually the most normal of the two started to work while the other one walked around my kitchen eating Pringles and then touching my furniture with his dirty hands. It took them an hour an a half just to move one bedroom, a living room and a few boxes into the truck... I couldn't even believe it! Once we got to my new apartment they moved even slower. In their defense, I will say that the distance from the freight elevator to my unit was quite a distance but there is still no reason it took them 2 hours to unload a freight elevator and my move was 0.6 miles! They took ZERO care of my furniture. They didn't wrap my furniture like professional movers are supposed to and there were dirty black fingerprints all over my expensive couch & dining room table. The waded a couple thousand dollar rug up into a ball and shoved it on the bottom of my nightstand. They also scratched a brand new wall with black everywhere and destroyed my baseboards which is going to cost hundreds of dollars to get fixed. They forgot parts of my bed frame and then completely broke a part of my TV and all they said was "whoops". At one point I just started crying because I couldn't believe how all of my belongings were being treated and destroyed and there was nothing I could do about it. By the end of the move I had to start unloading everything myself because the two guys just stood there like idiots. I had to pay almost double the price that Phil had originally quoted me because they moved SO SLOW! When I went to pay them, I started to write my check out to "American Movers Orlando" and they then had me write the check out to a random person named Aaron who is their "accountant". Obviously more shady business. I have moved about 10 times and I have never ever experienced anything like this. I have even moved in New York City and Chicago and they took less time than these clowns. Based on my experience, these positive 5 star reviews are without a doubt completely FAKE! I would never wish my worst enemy to go through what I went through with this company. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from American Movers!

Great experience. The guys were right on time, great to work with, fast and professional. I've recommended them to friends already and went out of my way to get more money to tip the guys as they were well worth it. Top notch service at a phenomenal rate. You could get another moving service, but you would be spending extra money for no reason

I am usually very skeptical about booking services online so I solely called American Movers based on their ratings. The team was AMAZING! I moved out of a second story apartment into another second story apartment about 1 hour away. Justin and Richard were so fast and extremely careful when transporting, wrapping, and delivering all of my belongings! Without help, I could have never done the move alone. Also, the original price they quoted me was the exact price they charged at the end of the job. If you are looking for a efficient and professional team call them now! Thank you Phil, Justin, and Richard. Great experience and overall one of the lowest quotes (Trust me, I called 8 different companies) I will definitely sing praises to them and recommend them to anyone in the future.
