Finding a reliable long distance moving company can be a stressful experience if you haven't had to use one prior. I moved from NYC to Miami 3 years ago, and I hired another long distance mover based on their BBB ratings. Unfortunately my experience left me without any of my furnitures, bedding, clothings, for a full 2 months because I went with the lowest price company who offered many promises and delivered 2 months later with all my furnishings broken in pieces and additional $500 hidden fees. I paid a total of $3000 while left with $0 value. With American Relocation Service, the gentleman who spoke on the phone offered me a thorough explanation with step by step instructions in terms of what I have in the way of Large furniture so he can provide me with a proper quote (with no extra hidden fees unlike the previous company I used). He also explained in details that his company is comparable to all the reputable ones such as Allied, with a much lesser price while surpassing the quality that these other big companies offer with their hefty price tags. I explained to him my poor experience in the past, and he relieved me by giving me the insights of why many moving companies use a bait and switch technique with offering extraordinarily low price only to then insert hidden charges in the end. His company gave me the proper price for an outstanding service. One that I will continue to recommend to all my friends and family to come should they need a reputable long distance mover. You restored my hope in dealing with long distance movers. I highly recommend anyone who is looking for a sound and reputable company to at least have a conversation with the team of American Relocation so you can see for yourself of why they stand above the rest.

The customer service was absolutely terrible. The first representative I talked (Eric) to gave me a quote, and made some promises (that two months of storage would be free, etc..) Then he went radio silent. I couldn't get an answer out of him, and the move date was getting closer. I finally got an answer from another representative (Russ), who told me that the original guy had lied about several things. The cost turned out to be more than twice what the first guy said. (Never trust a quote if they haven't come to your house and looked at your stuff.) A second month of storage cost $750 and couldn't be pro-rated. Resolving item breakage turned out to be more work than it was worth. The worst thing is that it was impossible to get answers out of them about dates. We had a specific move date, and we told them what it was weeks in advance. They jerked us around and finally showed up on the date we needed. But why the runaround? When we moved into our new home and were ready to have our stuff out of storage, it took two weeks of badgering them to actually get it delivered. The movers did a lousy job of putting my furniture (which they had taken apart) back together, ruining one piece and forcing us to run to IKEA for a lost part for another. Very much NOT recommended.

This has been the worst customer service experience I have had in a long time. The original estimate was reasonable, and I verified with them multiple times the exact items going and that all of it would be, and would fit in, a 5x10 storage unit. They called me a few days before the move and said they would show up a day early. I waited past the given time but they were a no-show. I called and they said, no, we will be there tomorrow. This happened for a couple of days. Eventually the movers showed up three days late and an hour past the given time. They packed up my stuff then gave me a bill that was about $900 more than the estimate. I had no choice but to pay, since I had to be out of the unit. I called the company and was told there was nothing I could do. I then flew to FL and have been waiting for my possessions to show up. I have called the company repeatedly to ask for an ETA, and each time, a dispatchers tells me they will call me back as soon as they talk to the dispatcher from the trucking company. Not one call back. I re-read my contract and saw that, according to them, if the movers on the day of the move think you have more stuff or have a higher estimate, they can either agree to the move and charge 10% at the time, OR make an agreement with the customer and bill the full amount 30 days later. Neither of those were offered by the movers OR by the rep at All American I spoke to. I called and left a message with the billing department regarding this issue and, not suprisingly, have not gotten a reply. Also, despite their 1-3 week time frame, my belongings were picked up in CA on May 17, and it has been over a month. I have no idea where my stuff is or when (IF?) it will arrive.

If you want to ease your stress during a move, you must consider working with Adrian Pou from American Relocation Services. Adrian is an honest, hardworking professional. He brings a level of professionalism to the process that is not common in the moving business. Their ability to synchronize the move in such a way that makes is seamless and organized, and Having s dedicated and experienced person who cares about your move and takes the time to listen to your concerns and requests, is the key to good customer service. Adrian makes the difference- he is experienced, caring, kind and patient and at the end of your call with him you will feel as if you have just made a life long friend. When researching who to go with for your move, call American Relocation Services and ask for Adrian- you won't regret doing business with him because he will not let you down!

Avoid this company at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My mother was quoted a low price for her move. Apparently Shane believes a 26 foot Penske truck is only 250 cubic feet. When the truck arrived the loaders advised us that our stuff was actually closer to 1,000 cubic feet. We have been trying to resolve a simple issue with our estimate for the last hour now. Ernie (or maybe it was Eric) told us we would receive a call within one hour from the sales rep we talked to (Shane), I called the company back almost 2 hours later (had to hide my caller id before they would answer) and was told very rudely that the ONLY way to resolve our problem was to go through e-mail. Now the only way I can get through is to blow up their phones using 3 different lines all with caller id blocked. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!

If I can give them a -5 starts I will. Totally dishonest, and unreliable. Shane Roberts....if that's his real name...will promise you everything, he will say anything to get your business, but it's a a lie. He will collect the deposit from you (and that's all he cares about) and leave you hanging. Gave the wrong list to the company that was actually doing the job (yup! They are just middle men, they won't do any of the actual job) i contacted them via email (they don't have a phone number for customer service. They only have this number 914-893-4282 that they will use to bother you and that's it! Once they got the deposit they won't answer! You can contact them by email. So you get caught between loosing your deposit and get someone else, or go through the process and suck it up. Stay away from this guys.

Shane Roberts thought he had hung up the phone when he muttered to himself, "that lady's a b****." He had not. Was trying to get to a quote and did not want to be locked into anything, and he said "you know what, I'm done with you" and, called me a B. Cool! There are real moving companies out there who can do the same thing without calling you a bitch.

Sadly, this has become the worst moving experience I've had in over 30yrs. PLEASE stay far away from this unreliable outfit! What started out as a very genuine conversation with Shawn Kayden back in mid-March 2019, has now become a moving nightmare. Worst of all, after dozens of phone calls and emails to Shawn and American Relocation Services, NO ONE is responding to the mess they created. We contracted through Shawn to have a 2 bedroom apartment packed and moved from Pittsburg, PA to Houston, TX. We detailed every piece of furniture, room by room and then Shawn insisted sending out someone from his team of experienced professionals to come by and walk through the apartment and physically and visually review the entire contents. Great, deposit paid willingly. Little did we know who was going to show up to facilitate the move. One month later, April 24th, 2019 Dimitri and his band of Russians walked into our apartment and within 5-mins without looking at anything demanded that the quote was wrong and it was now going to cost $1,500 dollars more, sight unseen?! That's right! I called Shawn and explained the situation to him and he spoke to Dimitri and then Shawn said to me, "Let them pack you out, and I will handle it afterward." Famous last words. Then for the next 3hrs, while Dimitri and his crew packed out the apartment, every hour on the hour Dimitri came to me and said, "I know you are mad at me, BUT here's why it costs $1500 more." Including, that they had driven ALL the way from NJ?! Not sure why that was or became my problem. He also said that both Shawn Kayden and his experienced representative that actually walked through the entire apartment did not know what they were talking about! Once they were in fact done and ready to finalize the bill, Dimitri demanded we tip the crew. When I gave him the tips, $25 each, he said it wasn't enough and demanded more?! It is now the end of June and we have had NO CONTACT back fro American Relocation Services or Shawn Kayden and are awaiting delivery of our furniture in hopes it arrives undamaged. We entirely expect to be accosted by the same ugly crew and fleeced for yet more money! PLEASE DO NOT ENGAGE OR CONTRACT AMERICAN RELOCATION SERVICES OUT OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA! YOU WILL SURELY REGRET IT!

I ended up with multiple broken items but I already knew dealing with the company was useless. I had yard items (weed whacker, shovels, and rakes...) that were switched out with another customers belongings. The delivery people tried to drop off furniture to my house that wasn't mine. When my washer was plugged in it was broken, it worked fine when the company packed it up. Disgusting company, pick another.

After filling out my request form online, I was contacted by Richard a week before my prospective move. Richard provided outstanding customer service by actually listening to my needs and expressing genuine interest to accommodate everything I was looking for in the perfect move. Richard's expertise was so remarkable that he gave me specific tools which helped me feel more at ease about a what could have been a very costly and stressful move. Richard helped me feel comfortable with asking questions and considering other options to save more money which made a huge difference. Thank you so much, Richard!

This company deserves 10 stars not only did they move me under 10 days from NYC to LAX but they did it for efficiently and with no issues as my previous moves ! They did in home estimate to ensure my price would not change on move date and everything was packed with such care and when delivered they put my whole house back together ! My agent Shane Roberts was amazing from start to finish ! I will definitely use them again if I move in the future ! If Shane is available when you call them for a quote use him the best!!!

do not give your credit card info to no one at this company...do not electronically sign any contract. you are dealing with a bunch of miami thugs sitting at home taking calls as a broker..... the "deposit" they like to call as the "reservation deposit" goes straight into their pockets....then the actual carrier that they sell the job to is going to ask you for more $$$ than the original estimate........they go by fake names....they lie...... and you will be left stranded on the day of your move..... they will also not pick up the phone after you reserve because they know there are going to be issues and you will have concerns! you will not hear from anyone as you get closer to the day of the move. they will leave you stranded. they don't care because they got what they wanted from you .... the deposit! they have it in small writing on their contract ...no refunds on the deposit....

DO NOT HIRE!! This company is a scam. They quote you a low amount to get your business and than double it once they pick up your stuff. I was quoted $2900 for my move from Chicago to Houston and was charged $6500. They kept my items hostage until I agreed to pay them $6500. The agent that gave me the initial "binding estimate" stopped taking my calls or replying to my text. I sent multiple emails to the support emails and never got a response. They really deserve 0 stars but Yelp hasn't given us that liberty yet. I have filled a complaint against this company with the Department of Transportation so hopefully they can stop scamming people.

Simply put, this place is a con. If you aren't prepared to provide them with an iron-clad, irrevocable, legally executed agreement then they will find a way to screw you. My retired parents paid for a move requiring a truck to accommodate 2400 cubic feet. These thieves took the money and subbed the job to a few guys with a 1300 cubic foot truck. The movers themselves have been great. This group and this Management is nothing less than a ripoff, and their responses here are every bit as dishonest. Please go through someone else, or move yourself....you'll be better off.

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!! A Complete "Bait and Switch" operation! I really want to give ZERO stars. They quote you a low price, then when the movers actually come LATE and deliver even LATER they do not respond to you anymore and the moving company then charge you an extra $100s or even $1000s due to overage of cubic feet (which you are definitely going to have no matter how exact the item list is you give to American Relocation). The moving company will then hold your items "HOSTAGE" until you pay them CASH! I'M TELLING YOU TO STAY AWAY. American Relocation Services is a Broker company and once they get your $5-600.00 deposit, they are no longer involved, wont' respond to emails or telephone calls and you have no control over who your moving company is, and the moving company do not respond either. My movers did not arrive with my furniture until AFTER 6 WEEKS from an already late pickup where American Relocation said in their "binding agreement (joke!) it would be 1-10 days. Filed COMPLAINT with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (Their DOT Number is 3180335). PLEASE take my advice and read the other reviews, my experience was exactly the same as theirs. The MOST STRESSFUL thing I have ever been through in my life and wouldn't wish this Company on my WORST enemies!!!!

Pay attention these one star reviews, especially those that reference Shawn and his poor communication. Our experience was almost identical to some of those listed here. The paperwork my retired parents were provided indicated 2400 cubic square feet, while the movers were provided paperwork indicating 1300 cubic square feet. This estimate was even AFTER someone from ARS, came to visually inventory the home, quoting 2400 cubic square feet. We have pictures and copies to prove it. The move ended up costing thousands more than anticipated, not to mention my parents had to go rent a U-haul to move the items (from AZ to TX) that would not fit in the truck because of the error on the part of ARS. The movers were great, but American Relo Services was an absolute joke/scam. Shawn operates with self serving motives; my parents have countless unanswered emails, phone calls, and text messages. They were literally begging for help/assistance....and nothing, no response from Shawn. Please save yourself the headache and use another company, seeing my retired parents taken advantage of in this way, has been both heartbreaking and infuriating.
