Totally awesome. We have moved many times in our 37 years of marriage and have owned huge pieces of antique furniture. In all these moves, we have had, maybe 3 outstanding movers and this move was one of the BEST! No difficulties from start to finish. Owner kept us informed and responded to each inquiry. The men were polite, respectful and careful, knew the art of angling and maneuvering each piece, how to best pack the truck... it was a long tough day and they remained up beat and cheerful throughout. 5 Star Three Thumbs Up No holds barred referral. This was by far the worst moving company I have ever worked with. We had a complicated multi-stop move and I specifically chose this company as they seemed responsive and familiar with the Tampa Bay Area. The owner was great over the phone during the sales process but proved to be disorganized and careless when it came to actual logistics in the days prior and day of the move. The three workers were friendly to chat with but proved very slow especially for a three person crew. Additionally, they were careless and unprofessional with our things. Only one member of the three person took any initiative to understand our boxes and properly strategize how to beat pack. Unfortunately he was a junior member of the team and it was clear the lead did not want to acknowledge him. They broke multiple pieces in front of us without any regard and carelessly tossed boxes (even those labeled as fragile). At one point the lead, wearing flip flops instead of proper shoes, tripped over his own feet and landed on two of our boxes, completely crushing them. Again I had great hopes for this company as I really enjoyed the sales calls with the owner but in the end it seems they were a terrible choice.

This review is long overdue but needed as I would warn people to look elsewhere for a reputable moving company. We have moved cross country multiple times for work opportunities and this by far is the worst company we have used. The wife & husband duo is great at the beginning but after the consultation you never hear/see the wife again & the husband is highly disorganized. They do a great job selling, but it goes downhill fast. Our pick up and pack ran well over time scheduled, they did not check the home before completion, forgot to pack the garage and did not wrap key pieces on furniture. On arrival at destination, one of their movers fell badly and sprained his knee, we watched this happen. He needed to see a doctor but was told to keep working. His knee swelled up and he was literally crying during the move. There was no organization to this move and we quickly noticed how much damage had been done to our furniture. Scratched furniture, smashed flat screen TV, and broken appliances. It gets worse, by noon time we realized they were not going to complete the move by days end to catch their flight home. In order to finish the move at out own costs we had to get another set of movers to get us situated and moved into storage. The very worse part of this issue was the owners shocking, aloof and constant rude responses for owning anything. EXCUSES and NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Support local businesses but not this one. Please see pictures of proof as owner will NOT make right or own this, instead we expect a snarky BS response.

My Real Estate and Building Company have used Big Man Moving for services. We have had nothing less than great experiences! On time, extremely careful and professional. The owners actually care about their company, employees and customers. I highly recommend them!

If I could provide a ZERO star that would be more appropriate. Mr. Johnny on the spot when you want to give him business. His crew when unloading severely damaged a heirloom. His crew admitted to the fact they they caused the damage. However since this has been brought to Josh's attention he has and continues to live up to commitments and business ethics. Certified letters to his known address are not being signed for. Makes me wonder if he even has valid insurance and is just another fly by night company. Beginning of the move was a bit rocky but I was a fan by the end. I've never handled moving before, I've always left it up to my husband. This time I felt empowered by Yelp's Request a Quote so I decided to take charge and find movers. I sent a quick summary of what I was looking for through RAQ and then the quotes came filing in. To be honest, I don't remember my exact conversation with Josh of Big Man's Moving Company. I had a couple phone calls with a couple different movers and for the most part they all walked me through all the items in my apartment that I needed moved - i.e. all of it. Since I work remote it was easy for me to catalogue what we had over the phone because I just walked from room to room. Communication with Josh was super easy and I felt confident that the move would go well. When the movers first arrived they walked in, looked at all the stuff and said this was way more than they were planning to move. They listed all the items I wrote in my vague RAQ message as if that was the final inventory. Maybe this was completely my fault. Josh may not have been one of the companies where we went over exactly what needed to be moved and also we had a ton of smaller boxes instead of packing things in fewer large boxes. However, I felt incredibly ill at ease when they kept muttering under their breath that their inventory lists were never correct and this was way too much stuff. When they left for a second my husband told me he thought they were about to leave and not come back. They did come back but for the next hour or so one of the movers kept muttering under his breath how heavy everything was. I'm pretty sure that guy is in the wrong line of business. About two hours into the move a third guy came. A little random but we went with it. When we drove over to the new house the upset guy switched out with the new guy. It was like night and day between those two. The new guy was amazing. In the new house we had a chaise that I hadn't been able to get into the room and the movers took off the legs and the door and got it in! I was their biggest fan after that. In the end, it took 4 1/2 hours to move a two-bedroom apartment (this did include a pit stop to grab a crib from a friend and figuring out how to get the chaise into the room). I felt like the guys were hustling. They were definitely walking pretty fast! In the end I think Josh is an awesome person and probably most of his movers are amazing. We just happened to get one that seemed a little disgruntled. I guess the real question is if I would hire them again. Although it was pretty uncomfortable at the beginning, I think I would. I always do like to support locally owned and operated businesses.

I've never used a moving company before so I didn't know what to expect. 2 things really surprised me - they showed up early and how they wrapped all the furniture. In the past I always had friends/family help me move and this was by far the best moving experience. If you're on the fence just go for it. Afterward you'll be glad you did!

Not that good of a move. Started out ok. But Worker kept hinting on taking care of him and he would take care of us! A lot of sob stories, looking for palms to be greased! No need if you do it right! Then just about done, tell us no more room, we are done and on our way!!?? My wife and myself were in surprise , shock, job not finished. Luckily it was a 60 mike move, but we had to go back two times to finish the move. Would not use again! Received a call from owner and we discussed my problems with the move. He had a problem with one of his workers and had let them go. He was concerned about my review and we discussed. I feel a lot better , he was honestly concerned and would make it right. Because of his immediate call to me and concern I would change to a 5 Star! Honest and concerned means a lot, Thank You for your response and concern. That's a sign of a good Company, Business.

We hired Big Man's Moving Company and we are so happy that we did! Great experience from beginning to end. Their movers ( Josh, Shawn and Cortez ) were amazing super polite and professionals.They treated our belongings as if they were theirs. They took all our belongings to a storage and they were able to fit everything perfectly! Josh the owner was a delight to talk to over the phone he answered all my questions and gave me great advices of how to get prepare for the move. Thanks Josh and his crew for making this stressful move easier!

We used Big Man's Moving Company on Monday and are SO INCREDIBLY GLAD we did! When you envision the way that your move should go, this is the company to hire to fulfill or exceed your expectations. In the past four years, we have completed no less than 8 moves between our household and my grandmother's. Each time has been more stressful than the time before, with either damage to "stuff" or property, movers not showing up, or unfriendly/disinterested movers on phone calls or smoke breaks, to slow and careless packing/moving and the list goes on.. We were very nervous about who to hire for my grandmother's most recent move, but based on reviews and discussions, we chose to hire Big Man'e Moving Company. The moved us this week and it was the VERY BEST moving experience. Ever. For starters, they were on time with the amount of movers and supplies they promised. They worked so hard, diligently, and compassionately all day. It was sort of unbelievable, honestly. Each of the movers treated our belongings as if they were there own when packing, padding, wrapping, and moving. We've slowly been unpacking for almost a week and we haven't found one thing broken or damaged. They also appeared to genuinely care about where my grandmother wanted each piece of furniture placed and moved anything for her with a smile. When a room or area would fill up with boxes to the point that it might impede her ability to get around, they would see the issue and anticipate the problem by asking if they could start placing in another area. These guys had more than just strong bodies, they put thought and effort into what they were doing, anticipating our needs before we had to ask. This is not what you get with "other movers" who will box and stack until there is no way to enter/exit, move around, or even fix the problem. It sounds corny, but they were a pleasure to work with and have in our home. So much so that my grandmother invited them back whenever they are in the area. I cannot stress enough about how hard they hussled, all with a smile and a gracious, positive attitude. This is something that sounds trivial, but having had experiences with other "not so friendly" movers, I can tell you that their positive attitude makes a BIG difference in this line of work. Lastly, they came in UNDER our anticipated budget. No kidding. We HIGHLY recommend this company. Thank you to Josh, Charles, Mark and John for everything you did for us. We sure do appreciate you

This company is the best! We had an out of state move, called them for an estimate, the owners showed up, looked over our things and made their recommendation as to what we would need to make the move, they were spot on. They gave us the price and schedule, once we agreed, the move went exactly as said and scheduled. The actual movers James and Charles loaded our things as if they were their own. They did an amazing job loading the truck making every inch count and securing the load. They showed up at the delivery location exactly on time, unloaded and on their way back to Tampa. If your moving use these guys, not necessarily the cheapest quote we received, but you do get what you pay for.

I sort of stumbled on Thumbtack and Josh while I was searching for moving companies, and boy am I glad! I really was having a tough time finding just the right moving company for this move. First home, and we had items this time that we were a little more concerned about the safety. Not only did Josh offer an incredibly competitive rate, he did so while offering me that genuinely human connection rather than simply "customer service" that we all look for these days. From start to finish the job was handled professionally, promptly, with care and precision. I genuinely couldn't have asked for a better experience with the service or the guys doing the heavy lifting!

You cannot go wrong with the guys over at Big Man's. They are very communicative, courteous, and efficient. Josh kept me in the loop on their move prior to mine in the day, so I knew exactly when they would show up. Three guys got all the furniture out of old house in less than an hour. They were even nice to enough to grab a few items that I had not put in our original order. I highly recommend them to anyone needing their services.

I too stumbled upon Josh and his new wife as I was looking to move a storage unit. We had the best experience with Josh's moving team. They were careful with our things, they moved quickly and they were professional. Josh and his wife showed up to make sure everything was satisfactory. We are planning another move and of course you know who we are going to use! They are without a doubt, the best!

Josh and his crew were amazing!! Outstanding service and the best movers. They took care of my furniture and made sure I was extremely happy with the placement of everything. Very nice and courteous, they took care of everything I needed done. Would definitely recommend this company again. Or use them in the future :)

Big Man's Moving Company is the way to go if you are making a move. Josh was so easy to work with; I was able to take pictures using my mobile phone to get a quote. They came in much lower than the national companies. Go local and family owned...use them for your next move!! We had a great experience with the movers too! Very polite, clean and timely.

After searching with Thumbtack and having 3 quotes, I decided to look up the 3 companies on Yelp. So glad I did! Josh and Paul (his helper of the day) were friendly and professional. The move took less time than I thought it would because of their hard work. I hope to never move again, but if I do, I know who to call!
