Hired two College Hunks to help load furniture and items in our own trailer to move. They were great! Adul was the Captain and he and Tay were wonderful. They were on time, polite and careful with all our items. We had very heavy items and they were able to handle it with ease. I would hire them again if needed. Thanks so much. We really appreciated having them and could never have done it so fast. It was also over 90 degrees so it was not a very pleasant time with the heat and humidity.

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE HIRING THIS COMPANY! I recently used the Pinellas franchise of College Hunks to move from my one bedroom apartment in St Petersburg to my new place in Tampa. The person I spoke with on the phone asked me a series of questions about how much I was moving, square footage, elevators, and all logistics involved which I provided to him. I was quoted $677.50 for the move including the truck fee. The movers who came ended up taking 12 hours and billed me $1415.50 for the move. They showed up at 9am and didn't finish loading the truck until 4pm even though it was a simple 1 bedroom unit with an elevator that went straight down to the garage. Once they arrived at the 2nd location they spent a bunch of time sitting out by their truck. Moving into the apartment one of the movers was using the dolly as a scooter and ended up taking a piece of the drywall off the building in the hallway. We also found that they damaged our 65" tv, my office desk, display shelf, bed frame (which they lost a screw for and didn't assemble completely), and broke numerous glasses and dishes. They also never came prepared with tools to disassemble the frame even though I specifically mentioned that and they had to borrow tools from me. I ended up filing a claim and they never responded to the corporate office after 12 attempts to reach them. I filed a complaint with the Florida Department of Consumer Services and was told by the representative that they are not licensed in the state of Florida. You can see that their license is expired if you go to the department's website and search their IM number which is IM#1998. I am currently pursuing a lawsuit against their company and can say that this has been anything but a "stress free experience."

Extremely poor experience. I had a very simple job - 3 items -- sleeper sofa, chair and coffee table - to be moved 28 miles from my office to my home. They never showed up. They never called me to tell me they were late or what. I finally called CH's home office and told me "they will get back to you with an ETA" -- this after I had been waiting 90 minutes. I told them to cancel the move. CH apologized, promised me a refund, but even after several phone calls over the next 2 weeks, had not still made a refund. What incredibly poor business practices. I would suggest finding someone else for your move

Horrible experience working with this company. Scheduled for 2-4. Called at 4pm for update and said we're coming after 6pm. Company or driver never reached out. After many attempts to contact main and local office, the staff kept hanging up or providing numbers that didn't work. No resolution to job never showing up or any compensation back provided. Would NOT recommend in the St. Pete area.

I was very happy with the moving services College Hunks provided. They helped us move bedroom and living room furniture, random small items, boxes, etc. The guys worked hard and were very good at what they do- wrapped the big pieces of furniture, nothing was broken or scratched! They were polite, courteous and the price was reasonable compared to other quotes I received. My only complaint would be that they were an hour and a half late to arrive. I wish they had called earlier to give us heads up about that so that we can get other things done in the meantime. Other than that- fantastic service!!!

Our daughter had used and recommended this company. The only odd thing was when a supervisor came to give us an estimate. He kept bringing up the "long walk from the house to the street", this would most likely increase the rate due to that long walk carrying the furniture. Keep in mind we have a one story home with an average size yard. Estimate between $750-$950 all due to this "long walk". But on the day of the move, the "hunks" that arrived were Chris, Jordan, Dennis and Tra'von. Moving is stressful...... these 4 guys were a hoot. Not only did they wrap all furniture and carry it all that way to the truck in record time. I'd like to add, they were very professional, but also a joy to work with. When the furniture was unloaded into the new house, they unwrapped and placed everything where we asked. Just great guys! End cost? $440.00. Would we use them again? Yes, and request Chris, Jordan, Dennis and Tra'von. 5 stars would have been given had the estimate not included such a long trip back and forth, almost doubling the actual cost. Thanks for a great job, guys.

I had an incredibly simple move. I was moving from one floor of my apartment complex to another and I really don't have a lot of stuff. The movers took forever to move my furniture and the boxes I had packed, which caused me to be charged for several hours more than I was quoted. Plus, the real problem was that despite simply having to move my furniture down a hallway and up an elevator, the movers scratched all of my brand new furniture, which now needs repaired or replaced. The guy in charge was professional and he actually took care of my things but the two other guys that were with him clearly did not want to be there and they were the ones banging all of my furniture off of the walls. I would never hire this company again.

My family had a great moving experience with this company today! My grandparents are elderly and as expected of anyone having to move, were extremely anxious. (Especially because of having many custom made and heavy pieces) However, our three college hunks had exceptional customer service etiquette, were skilled and knowledgeable about how to properly move, lift, and wrap delicate furniture, and were extremely patient with our requests or suggestions. Thanks to all of this and their positive, caring, funny, and polite attitudes, we ended our day with joy and a lot of smiles! (surprising right?!) Needless to say, we have hired movers from other companies and have had very different experiences. So, before you read reviews from the past that may not not be as positive (I did the same thing...), you should understand that these men are not just eager to make money fast like most other movers, but instead take their time to make sure the job is done properly, compassionately, and most importantly...safely! ALSO! They are not just college students but also trained moving professionals and it was easy to see by the quality of their work!

Contacted College Hunks to come out to give us an estimate, decided to go with the proposed quote. Day of move, nothing went as quoted. Was told we would get 4 movers and move would take 2.5 hours. 2 movers showed up, we assisted in the move more than the movers did and it took over 5 hours. It is not the kids fault that moved us, it is upper management with their lack of planning and communication on their end. We have tried to contact the company to express our unfortunate experience and we are always told someone will call us back with 2-3 days. Our friends who were here from out of town ending up having to help or our move would of taken another hour or so. I will never recommend this company and their terrible service.

I had a similar experience as other reviewers and would recommend strongly that you do not hire these movers. I hired them a while back to move from one 650 sq ft apartment to another 650 sq ft apartment 0.4 miles away. The movers went very slowly (I believe in an effort to inflate the price) and actually wasted about 40 minutes before finally admitting to me they did not have the proper tool to disassemble my bed. They actually had me go to Home Depot to buy the tool (which was a simple key wrench) and the only offer to rectify was to reduce my bill by the $10 the tool cost. A move that should have taken a few hours took almost 6.5 hours and and an upcharge that was unfair and unnecessary. They also damaged my leather sofa by taping the cushions and not wrapping them.

Wouldn't use this company again. I used College Hunks out of Tampa previously, and had a great experience with them. However, my experience with College Hunks in St. Pete was decent at best. They sent me two workers, one of which was brand new and yawned the entire time he worked, lazily walking from box to box. Did I hire a professional or a child??? I was only moving a 600 sq ft studio apartment (one bed and some boxes) just 4 minutes down the road and it took them 2.5 hours!! I could have completed the job quicker myself. I actually started carrying out boxes myself to make the job go faster. Sent a message to the manager without so much as a response. $400 later and I am OVERLY disappointed... which seems to be the norm with this company based on the reviews I now am looking at. Oh, and the best part?! I went back to my apartment after they left and there was still a box and a large floor lamp I had to move myself. WOW! Would NEVER recommend them again. A huge thanks to the manager for the lack of response.

I had to move a 3 bedroom 4 bath townhouse. It required an in home estimate beforehand which was scheduled in a 2 hour window. I took work off that day to be available and to my luck, they don't show up. I give them a call and they say they will let the manager know. Needless to say, no one ever shows up and I never hear back from them! Horrible business practice and it left me rushing to find another mover in such short notice.

Junk, that is exactly what you should trust with this company. Not actual things that have value. My boyfriend and I use this company about a month ago to move into our new apartment. In the process the leg of our couch was damaged and our couch was no longer useable. We called them the same day and they gave us a claim number as well as the cellphone number for the project manager. I have called them EVERY week since the damage and I have not had the problem addressed. Our moving project cost about $600 and not ONE phone call from this company. I called the corporate​ office today and the girl I spoke to had no explanation​ as to why this is hasn't​ been addressed. She provided me with 2 new phone number and again...went to voicemail. I am so over this. If I ever get a response back from this company I would happily​ update this review. But in the meantime. I would not trust them to move a freaking toaster from point A to point B. One of my colleagues​ recently called me and asked who I would recommend for moving and my response was, "anyone but college hunks."

Horrible customer service! Avoid I had schedule junk hauling for today - given awindow of 4-6pm and told I would receive a call 15-20mins prior. When there was no call and it became 6:20 I called to see what was the delay. They indicated that they would send a service message and I'd have a call with 5-10 mins. At 6:50 I called again and was told that they have " no control on the franchise and could do nothing to help me" I cancelled service. They we rude, dismissive and offered no solutionsz Avoid!!!

CHHJ were fantastic. They came the same day we called, on short notice and hauled away a huge amount of stuff just prior to our move to California. We needed to get everything out that didn't go with the movers and in short time, as we had a flight to catch.
