Crew showed up on time and I got a surprise extra guy. They were super nice and very organized. They moved my 1 bedroom apartment in to my new apartment in under 3 hours. Could not have been happier with my first experience with movers. Highly recommend!

Moving is never a straight forward thing or easy to plan but if you want to take stress out of your equation then hire these guys. Probably the best decision I have made during my move. I wish I can give these guys 10 stars they are the best!!! Triple A+! I've moved at least 5-6 times since I've lived in the Bay Area since 2004, and had a whole host of issues/troubles and stress with other movers. Even had to get involved with a lawyer for a company that is no longer in business. I found one big man, one big truck by typing in "top 10 best movers in San Francisco" and they came up towards the top of the list. Right off the bat, they are one of only a few companies that list their price up front. They let you know how much it is to get started, and how much it will be hourly for those guys. What's included and what's not. I called them to get an estimate of the total hours for a 1 bedroom move across the bay from SF to OAK and Fred was super responsive to let me know what I could expect. I also reached out to another company who didn't even get back to me. As time was of the essence, I went with these guys and I'm thankful that i did. On the morning of the move i got a text message to say the guys had left with the truck and i could track them like a delivery service to know when they would arrive at my place. They arrived and checked in on what needed to be moved. I reviewed the proposal on an iPad and they got to work. Effortlessly they were wrapped up in 3hrs and then started the drive over to OAK. We followed in our car shortly after and got the new place opened up. They got everything into our new place in record time. Just 1hr and a half. After traveling over to the east bay. It couldn't have gone more smoothly. Super professional, super diligent and awesome service. If you are planning a move call these guys first. You won't regret that decision!!!

These guys aren't the cheapest movers in the business, but they were fantastic to work with. Easy quoting, good communication, and super on-top of everything. I was originally planning only to have them move the furniture to be as cheap as possible, but when they saw all the boxes they offered to grab everything that was already packed, and good lord it was worth it. They also threw a few wardrobe boxes our way so that we could chuck clothing in them for the short trip across the bay. Maybe I've developed a low bar to clear since every other time I've used movers it's been a complete and utter shit show, but I don't see how this could have gone any better.

Facts: * Always responsive over the phone. Paul was a pleasure to work with from initial reservation all the way to post-move follow up. * Moving crew of 3 came on time, right in the middle of the timing window. Granted it's SF during rush hour, so that's stellar planning * Efficient with their time. Pretty much jogged up and down 2 flights of stairs while loading our things from the apartment into their truck. * Stellar packing into our POD. Crew took good care to make sure our belongings were packed well into our POD as to prevent too much shifting during transport to the East Coast. If I knew they were this good, I think I could've gotten away with a smaller POD.

Great movers, professional and accommodating. I appreciated their extra effort to make things go smoothly, and their help with packing fragile and oddly-shaped items. Was more expensive than I originally planned since I needed three movers, rather than two, and since I wasn't completely packed on arrival and needed more time. :/ Pricing was transparent, though, and their service was well worth the money. I would absolutely book OBMOBT for my next move.

I was in the uncomfortable situation of having to move while being out of town,and I could not have found myself in better hands. Incredibly responsive, details oriented, dedicated to accomplish an amazing job, Wolf and his team went beyond expectation. I came back to my new place, to found my boxes and furniture exactly where they were supposed to be, all taking care of, all perfectly laid out. Very impressive.

I have used this moving company three times now and have always been over the moon. Our most recent move came pretty suddenly and Paul was unable to get us in. However, he ended up having a cancellation, called us back and set us up just two days before our move. Tim and Kenny's team arrived on-time and they were a dream. We hired 3 guys to pack and move us and they sent us a 4th guy for free! The team was kind, communicative, organized, fast yet patient with us, taking good care of all of our belongings. They took our home from the city to the North Bay - making two stops to our new residence and to a storage unit. We couldn't have made this move happen with such ease without this team. I highly recommend reaching out to this company if you are moving. It is also worth the investment to have them help you pack!! Best decision we have ever made to make moving less stressful. Working with them was way easier than I expected. And the results were better than I could have hoped for. They are very nice and responsive to emails and phone calls. I was given straight forward estimate numbers that included all potential costs. Which initially seemed high as I had never used a moving company before, but after calling around to a few other places, ended up being around the same or a bit less than the competition. I went with them because their bill/estimate was simpler, and they had received some good recent reviews. Setting up the logistics (location, day, time, parking, etc) was very straight forward. They showed up on time, were very nice and polite, and moved all my belongings from my 4th floor apartment (which has no elevator) in San Francisco to the East bay in a ridiculously small amount of time. Watching them work was amazing. They finished about 2 hours before their estimated finish time, and because they charged an hourly rate, the final bill came in a couple of hundred dollars below estimate. If you are organized and pack/secure things properly, these guys will not skip a beat in their work. I also received a phone call a day or 2 after the move from the owner of the company, Fred, to ask about the overall experience, make sure everything went well, and nothing was damaged. Using One Big Man moving company was easily the best moving related decision I've ever made.

Thia was my first time hiring professional movers. I had always moved myself but decided to spend a little money and let someone else do the heavy lifting. Now these guys aren't the cheapest mover I found in San Francisco, but decided to go with them because of their yelp reviews. These guys were super friendly from the get go. Setting up my appointment was thorough, professional, and everything was explained to me. I also received a confirmation with instructions and a call four days beforehand to confirm everything. I was definitely out at ease. I hired two movers to move me to the east bay. On moving day, they showed up on time and they brought a third guy along (who I think was in training) but I got an extra pair of hands for free! The movers worked quickly and my stuff was on the truck in no time. They packed everything well so that nothing would get damaged and nothing was damaged! They got done in less time than I thought, saving me money. And to top it off, I got a follow up phone call to make sure I was happy. Not once did they ask if I would do them a favor and write them a review. I was just inspired by the great service as I'm sure many of their other reviewers were. Thanks, one big man!

I've never hired movers before and was reluctant since this was for my office. However, I was blown away by the great customer service and speed of the move. This would have taken me all day if I did it alone. The team of 3 moved everything (out of old and in to new office) in 2 hours. The movers were scheduled to arrive by 9am, they arrived early (8:40) and nearly had half the truck full before 9am. These guys hustle and are super friendly. Everything was discussed over the phone before hand. Once they arrived, there was a check in sheet for the time and then check out when finished. Everything was reviewed together so there were no surprises. They were super professional!!! If you're planning a move in the city, I highly recommend this service. You can have piece of mind that they will show up and move your items carefully and safely, and as fast as possible. I'd give them 6 stars if I could.

If there were 10 stars, I'd give it to them. My move was a beast. Up a steep hillside driveway, then 73 steps or a Hillavator. The first moving company took one look and declined. Short time to find movers. These guys took the job and had the best possible performance. PODs blocked our driveway. Despite yelling (literally and I don't usually yell) at the driver that he couldn't leave the POD there, he just drove away. Rudest possible person. My 5 Big Guys used dollies to push the contents of a 16' container up the steep driveway. Then got everything into my house. Hire these guys! Nicest bunch of hard working honest guys you could ever meet.

Very clear and communicative with the quote upfront, the owner Fred took great care to factor in a number of things to plan ahead on the phone. The two guys Alex and Raoul who moved me showed up on time, were very courteous and organized, and moved my 1 brdm apt in about 4.25 hours within SF, including navigating a pretty tricky tight corner in my old apt by taking apart the couch. Only minor feedback would be if they'd taken off their shoes for the bedroom in my new place as it's carpeted and I just had it steam cleaned, but that's just a tiny imperfection for an otherwise fantastic job, certainly made the stress of moving much more tolerable. Overall highly recommend.

Their team was careful, very quick, kind and a joy to be around. They could not have done a better job. I hope I don't have to move again for a while but I know who to call if I do.

By far the absolute moving experience ever. From the start, when I made the first call to book to when the truck pulled away everyone amazing. I had to call back a few times with questions and each time the person on the other end was top notch in customer service. And TODAY's movers (yes today I'm that happy) came right on the dot 9am, assessed the situation and moved our 2.5 bedroom (really a 3 bedroom but one room as mostly empty) in 7 hours. They were efficient, friendly, kept us updated on any concerns on items and answered any questions I had patiently while still moving. I cannot say enough about them - if i could remember their names (no matter how efficient it's still a MOVE!) I'd give them an individual shout out! Highly, highly recommend them - they are well deserving of their 5 star rating and I'm glad to add to it.

Big Man/Big Truck helped us pack all of our belongings into a UHAUL last July and my husband and I couldn't have been more grateful for their help! We had three movers and they expertly helped us to pack and wrap our final items and place everything in our truck and car. The team literally helped to make our move less stressful, which says a lot, because moving IS THE WORST.

Oh my goodness. Best money I've spent in a while. The communication was great from start to finish. They were very upfront about what information they needed from me and when and I knew exactly what to expect in terms of time, money, and what I needed to do to prepare. OBMOBT gave me an excellent referral for reusable moving boxes (separate review - also fabulous). Then I got a phone call a few days before to iron out any last minute details/issues. Very efficient and responsive customer service. The movers arrived in a timely manner. I knew we were in good hands immediately. OBMOBT took excellent care of our things and took the time to wrap our furniture in blankets and plastic. They took apart our bed and large dining table to make it easier to move. They put on felt on the bottom of our furniture so we wouldn't scratch the floor. On top of that a couple of days later we got a call to make sure everything went smoothly. Thank you, OBMOBT for making a what could have been a stressful experience a breeze!

Amazing experience! I'll never move without professional help ever again! From the first phone call to the last piece of furniture in place, OBM&OBT were awesome. Attentive to detail, organized, careful, hard-working, professional, dedicated. The first call took about 40 minutes to arrange all of the details. I called 311 to reserve the parking spaces outside for the day (which was super easy, cost $262 for the day, and was so worth it). At 9:00am sharp, three guys showed up and got right to work. We signed a few papers (which they explained very thoroughly), then they gave us a bunch of wardrobe boxes for our clothes, covered our furniture with blankets and plastic wrap, wrapped the mattress & TV, and fit everything into their big truck. At that point we were 3-hours in, so they asked for a 15-minute, off-the-clock break for coffee, which of course we obliged. Then they took off for the new place. At the new place, they made quick work of the boxes and furniture, and unwrapped the furniture and put drawers back in, put the sectional sofa back together, etc. The finale included a set of wooden office shelves and a large and heavy wardrobe, both of which needed to go up a flight of winding stairs. They weren't sure it could be done, but they had us sign a "risky move" damage waiver. 30 minutes later, both pieces of furniture were safely upstairs and in place! Not one mark on any walls or floors! WOW! THANK YOU to the three guys who helped us out from 9am-4pm today. (I can't remember their names...I think might have been Rodrigo?) Y'all are the best!

I've used OBMOBT twice now and both times they were fabulous! They recently packed up our house and loaded our moving truck. They were right on time and knocked it out. After a 12 hour drive in a massive moving truck, we arrived at our destination and not a single thing was damaged. Our unloading crew couldn't believe it. I also appreciated their unsolicited tips on renting a moving truck - totally helpful and just went above and beyond.

Professional, helpful, and pleasant team. Would definitely hire them again.
