Although it was convenient in theory, there were just too many additional charges that outweighed the benefit of convenience. This was my absolute first AND last time using PODS. They stress the convenience of using PODS but what they don't stress is there are charges everywhere. I didn't mind paying $329 for a month of storage and insurance. What I did mind paying was the additional $85 drop the pod off fee back to my house, the additional $37 non paved surface fee ( which by the way A. wasn't charged when they dropped it off and B. the POD could have been placed on the paved side of my driveway.), then because the company blocked off 10/8 as available for my final pick up, I had to schedule it to be picked up 10/9 only to discover that was 1 day over the month and I was basically charged $234 for another month. So not only am I out another $234 for a month of storage, that I can't even use they picked up the POD!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! ****UPDATE**** I have given 1 star back to the company for the ease of "requesting" a refund. I was advised by the Customer Service Agent that I would receive a full refund of $234 back to my credit card. I waited to receive the refund before updating this review, as I was ready to give back 2 stars to make it a 4 star review if the refund was seamless, however the refund was processed as promised but for $199.14 with no explanation. I was charged $234.09 and refunded $199.14?? Again it seems that everything with Pods is superficial, and leaves the customer with unexpected billing charges. Just disappointed.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They will rip you off! Read all of the various reviews. Unfortunately I have to give 1 star, otherwise I would give negative infinity for my bad experience. When I ordered the POD, I was given a price for the PODS delivery, pickup, transportation to the PODS storage, first month of rent, PODS re-delivery to my location, and final pick up. I was told what the monthly storage fee would be if I needed it stored for 2 months. I was told to schedule all pickup/delivery dates through their website. The only positive thing I can say about our PODS experience was the PODS drivers were great. I was shocked when I looked at my credit card bill then at their final invoice. I was charged an additional $157.48 and this included a non-paved surface fee. The funny thing is I took photos/video of all PODS delivery/pick up and everything is on a paved surface. I called PODS. They must train all of their "customer service" people to be rude. They told me I was lying about the charges I was told I would be paying and I was charged the non-paved surface fee because I scheduled the re-delivery of the POD on their website. These people are ludicrous. Since they fraudulently placed charges on my credit card, I contacted my credit card company, they promptly opened a dispute, and told me they were placing a temporary credit on my account until the dispute can be resolved. Funny thing is each time I speak to my credit card company about PODS they say we hear that a lot about PODS. For the past month PODS has been sending me threatening emails and letters that they are sending my account to a collection agency for non-payment. I have tried speaking with various "customer service" people at PODS, but they are all extremely rude and tell me I am lying. Kind of weird as I know what my paved driveway looks like, I know what I was told when I ordered the POD as I wrote down everything and repeated it multiple times to the sales guy. In the past 2 weeks I have spoken to the same billing "manager" as they keep calling with their threatening message of collections. After each call with PODS I call my credit card company for an update. They advise the charges are still in dispute, they are waiting for PODS to contact them as they are being unresponsive, and they should not be threatening me with collections. Today PODS called to threaten collections. I told them I have not heard from my credit card company about a resolution. They said they won the dispute and if I do not make an immediate payment before the end of this month they are sending my account to collections. I told them I would be calling my credit card company and they said they would call me back in 30 minutes. Again my credit card company told me the charges were still in dispute with no resolution because PODS has not responded to them. Then the credit card company made a really good point, if PODS had won the dispute the temporary credit they placed on my account for PODS fraudulent charges of $157.48 would have been removed and I would see the charges on my next credit card bill. The credit card company told me I was the 3rd customer they have spoken with today involving PODS and they are threatening collections hoping to scare me into paying them. Another good point, if I were to cave to PODS threats and if I lose the dispute PODS will be paid by the credit card company when they remove the temporary credit. Please do not, DO NOT use PODS, you will end up paying more than they quoted!!! And the PODS billing "manager" never called back.

I'll never use these guys again. It cost over $6,000 to move 2 pods from California to Florida. I expected that. 3000 miles is a lot of gas over 9 days. But our final address changed, and I needed them to move my pods 100 miles to the Tampa area. It cost an additional $2000, and it would take 4 days. 100 miles. For $2,000. That's insane. But what could I do? They had all my stuff and I didn't have the time to have it delivered somewhere and move it myself in a traditional moving van that would have cost me $800 for the same distance. Freaking pirates. Correction: it cost $2,500. UPDATE: Customer service contacted me. "Their rates are non-negotiable." Thanks. Real helpful.

Very poor customer service. Rude managers. We just purchased a house and there was a POD left in the driveway. The previous owner had it scheduled to be removed the day before but the POD driver didn't pick it up, claiming there was no lock on the POD. We were there and saw that there was a lock. They never called the owner who could have had their agent there in 5 minutes to put one on if there was really no one there. I called them letting them know that there was a POD on my property that needs to be moved today as our moving truck was coming the next day. I spoke with a manager who told me I was rude and uncooperative. I said OK let's cooperate, how we get this done. His version of cooperating was to tell me that it was already scheduled for the next day and there was nothing he could do. He gave me excuses but did nothing to resolve the situation. Our only alternative is to call a tow truck to have it removed - possibly damaging the contents. The previous owner has also been trying to get it removed but they also have had no success in expediting the removal.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Their customer service ruins any benefit you may get by using them. Our delivery and pickup from the old house went smooth and perfectly. They arrived on time, delivered it where we needed it and picked it up with no problem. Even the storage of the unit was good. That's where the customer service ended. We had needed a second one, but they couldn't help us, so we used PackRat for the second pod. I had went online and gave them specific instructions as to where the pod was to be placed at our new house. On the left side of the driveway (facing the house), if there is another pod already there, place the pod 20 feet from it. I was at the new house until 8:00 pm the day of the delivery (11/13), they didn't show or call. We arrived Saturday (11/14), to find the pod on the right side of our driveway - blocking the side door of the house and causing the moving truck to either drive up on my lawn (over the septic) or on the left and having to move furniture over the grass/dirt. I called immediately to tell them that it was delivered incorrectly and was told that nothing could be done until MONDAY! We had to pay for a second day of moving since it would take more time to walk around the pod to move boxes and heavy furniture. I called on Monday and was told someone would call me back. I called again on Wednesday and was told someone would call me back. I called on Friday and was told someone would call me back. It is now the second Monday, I called again today, and was told that they couldn't tell me how soon someone could call me back, but was told that they had me scheduled for pickup on Friday 11/27! The pod is blocking one of our bay doors to our garage in which we do business out of. We are unable to use that bay door and unable to get equipment out of it! Not one person has cared enough to understand our business is losing money by not being able to use our equipment, that had they followed my instructions, would not be blocked in! I was however notified that if I move it myself, any damage done to their pod will be my responsibility to pay for. How about us backcharging them for the money we are losing for the equipment they have blocked in? Go with PackRat for all your storage needs! They are quick to respond, quick to deliver, quick to pick up, and much more helpful for the same amount of money!
