I reached out to Starving Artist Movers as I was searching for a moving company to help my wife and I move from an apartment into a townhome. On submitting a quote request via their website, Blake responded quickly via text message and gave me a flat rate estimate that was well below any other quote that I had received thus far. On the day of the move, Blake and Josh (I can't remember if I got his name right) arrived on time with a massive pickup truck pulling a large trailer. They had all of our stuff moved from a 3rd floor apartment into the truck within about 90 minutes. Once we arrived at the new place, they had everything unloaded from the truck and setup in our house (including reassembling our bed) in about 45 minutes. Payment was easy (via Paypal) and Blake sent me a receipt to my e-mail account. At all times Blake and Josh were incredibly friendly, but also very professional. They took great care in making sure they didn't damage any of our items. Additionally, our new house has a fresh coat of paint on the inside, and they were very careful to not mark up the paint. All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. These guys are awesome and worked really hard in the June heat to get us moved in record time. Awesome, awesome, awesome!

I recently had a local move where I used the Starving Artists. (WELL WORTH IT!) They were prompt, professional, efficient, and affordable. Not to mention, they were personable. They took caution with my antiques and family heirlooms. It made getting movers worthwhile and I love that I found a good local company I can rely on again if I need it.

Our movers double booked and thankfully let us know in advance; that said, we scrambled trying to find someone to help us move within the 4 days. Blake was terrific in that he was able to accommodate our request and give us a great estimate online. Love the ease in working with this crew! Blake, Josh, Ben were all very polite, personable, professional and just a great group of guys. They arrived on time, paid attention to moving furniture without damaging it, and Blake pointed out things that went wrong instead of hiding it like other movers tend to do. They wrapped everything to protect it and they charged what they said they would charge. These guys worked hard and long to get our move done(making 2 trips) in one day. Our move was hard- moving from a 3 story home with heavy, expensive furniture. I would recommend these guys to everyone!!

Super nice guys!! I needed to move an old sofa from the second floor of a condo in Palm Harbor to the back guest room in DTSP. These guys were less expensive than other local movers I called and they could deliver on a weeknight (which none of the others could or would do). For the price I expected a couple of guys in a pickup truck but it was an actual enclosed trailer which was great because they got caught in the rain in the drive. Very professional and friendly. Plus, being a starving artist myself I can appreciate the business model haha! Definitely hanging on to their contact info the next time I need a hand moving furniture. Because moving sucks and your friends dont want to do it either so stop trying to bribe them with beer. Do the right thing: pay for pros to help you move and support the local music scene at the same time :)

I love that they charge by the item, not time, so you aren't stressed on moving day about your movers are being lazy or intentionally slow to rack up a nice bill. It was the cheapest quote we got by over $100. Past movers have scuffed, scratched, and even torn my furniture since it's so large, dense, and awkward to carry, but there was not a single blemish left by Starving Artists! They were on time, professional, very kind and easy to work with. A piece of furniture was already damaged and they even spoke up to let me know that they noticed it, rather than hiding it out of fear that I suspected they damaged it. Supporting local businesses means a lot to me and I am glad I did as they made sure to treat my furniture and belongings with the same personal care that I would have, not just like another job as a big corporate company would. The crew is made up of friends who value their work and get along well, an overlooked and important aspect of inviting strangers into your home. Starving Artist Movers care about your move, and you can tell these are genuine guys who enjoy helping others through their craft. I wish I had hired them in the past and hope that the crew of friends are still in business for any future moves I have so that I know I am getting the best service at the best price. Our experience with Blake and crew was awesome. We didn't quite know our moving schedule until the day before it happened, and the flexibility of scheduling was most helpful. Michael and Jay showed up promptly, worked their tails off getting our 2-bedroom apartment loaded into our UHaul. Steve & I realized we were going to need help at the other end of the road, unloading the truck into a storage unit, and Blake and Josh were quick to accommodate. These guys are great; I'd recommend them without reservation!
