I cannot say enough about Tom and The Smoother Mover crew. I have dealt with many moving companies in the past and have had my share of disasters and nightmare experiences. I had spent several days researching and speaking to most moving companies in the Tampa area, and after speaking with Tom from The Smoother Mover, I had made my decision on the spot. Tom was quick to get back to me when I inquired about a quote. Comparing the list of quotes I had gathered from all the companies I had spoken with, his price was extremely reasonable. Excellent communication, they arrived on time and ready to move. They were efficient, courteous, professional, and most importantly they genuinely listened to several requests that I had regarding certain items. I am very happy that I went with my gut instinct and thankful for the positive experience. This is why I love using family owned companies - they truly care. I highly recommend The Smoother Mover for your next move! I will most certainly use them again.

Because this company had great reviews, we hired them for a recent move from Hudson to Land O' Lakes, FL. Tom is a smooth talker and makes promises which are not kept. He promised 5 wardrobes and 2 very dirty ones were on the truck. The 2 man crew that showed up hardly fit the description that Tom had provided. Tom had estimated that 5 hours to pack us up and 3 hours to unload and one truck would be very adequate. Because of the very evident inexperience of the crew, they were still packing up when evening set in and unpacking in the dark. They also could not fit everything in the truck so had to come back the next day which cost us another $300. The damage to our furniture makes me sad and would not have happened with an experienced and careful crew. We just learned that Tom is refusing to pay for the damages which he will tell you he is covered for, blah, blah, blah. Don't believe his BS. His crew damaged walls and the woodwork very badly when moving a desk which they dropped down the stairs. Tom claims no fault! It will cost us $1,000 to repair this damage to our property. If you want heartache and angst, hire this smooth talker but be prepared to kiss his promises good bye.

Very polite guys that seem to really know what they're doing. They showed up a little early, which was perfect for me. No lollygagging around, just straight to work, and they managed to finish within the minimum 3 hours. They were friendly and treated my belongings with decent respect. I will say that my bed frame got scratched up, but it's the black Ikea "wood" which honestly scratches very easily. I will definitely use them again next time I move, and I already recommended them to my old neighbors for when they move! I'm very pleased with how the whole experience turned out. No hidden fees, the price they quoted - $95 per hour with two guys and the truck included, 3 hour min, + $95 flat rate for fuel - is what I paid. Thanks guys!

This was the worst experience of MOVING EVER!!!! My lady and I used them because of the good pricing, worse mistake. To start my wife, who is pregnant, called and asked if they could come with a truck and move us. Tommy stated that they could for 150 for 3 hours and every hour after was 50 dollars. She stated that was fine and scheduled. They show up with no truck. When we asked where was the truck the moving guy, Robert stated he wasn't told that. She called and spoke with Tommy. Tommy stated that for a truck move it was 95 dollars an hour. WHAT! She asked what happen to what they discuss before and he said sorry I misunderstood. So we go and rent a truck from Uhaul. They guys start the move. After one hour of work the guys are outside taking a smoke break. WHAT!!! Some I come outside and ask what's going on and Robert stated I need a quick smoke and a drink. 3 hours later the big items, only 5 because it's a one bedroom condo, are getting loaded. Why is it taking so long when everything is boxed...maybe smoke breaks? Robert and his counter part grab the Dolly to load our entertainment center. Robert tells the other guy that he has it go get something else. Robert sets the item down to check his phone and then that's when he SNAPS THE LEG OFF. Robert then states that it will be fixed one way or another....fast forward. 5 hours later, yes a total of 7 hours for a one bedroom condo. After they leave we notice that the dresser has a big AZZ scratch that wasn't there before. What the hell!!! We call and call tommy the owner with no return call. Tommy now dodges all our calls. Guest what that means....Better Business Bureau will be notified! Save your time and furniture from these clowns!!!!! They will only run up the clock and break/damage your stuff.

I wish I could give zero stars let me start by saying it took them 9 hours to move right down the road. We have used them before but last time they only took 4 hours (we had more stuff last time ) the one guy talked nonstop to the other guy so much , he would randomly stop moving a object down the stairs And just start telling a story....also they where not safe with our stuff they broke our desk leg, dropped one off our end tables ,messed up all the walls at both places. The one guy around 5 foot and the other 6 foot said they have never worked together before and they looked and saw all the walls where they banged and just ignored it like it was nothing we left the first house (8ish hours in) and came down the road we where so mad we made them basically put stuff anywhere

I handle facilities for 40 offices across the US and Canada and often work with moving companies. The Smoother Mover is by far one of the worst moving companies I've hired. My company needed a little help moving furniture around the office so I thought the Smoother Mover's 2 men for $60 an hour would be perfect. I found a couple good reviews online so I scheduled with Tom several days in advance, he said he'd send 2 people with 2 dollies, shrink wrap & a basic tool kit. When the day came they arrived 3 hours late without any equipment. Being that they didn't get to our office until 5:00 PM I had to pay people overtime to stay with them. When they finished and it came time to settle up they didn't have a receipt for the service and the crew had the nerve to ask for a tip. When I called Tom and complained about his crew he didn't seem to care. Since they didn't leave a receipt Tom said he would e-mail one to me. What I got barely qualifies, it was a text only e-mail that didn't identify his company name and on top of that they misspelled my name and my company's name. I e-mailed back asking for something that at least showed the Smoother Mover info with the correct spelling of the names and didn't get a response. I called to ask for it and only got voice-mail without a return call. I guess Tom is avoiding me.

Worst expierience of moving I have ever had I should of just rented a truck and did it my self since that's what happened. We call and ask for one of there smaller trucks they give us the big truck where it can't fit in the loading area. Second they said that they would bring pads for the furniture and would be able to take apart the bed frame if needed well they didn't bring pads and they didn't have any tools. Well the move lasted almost till 1 in the morning which is complete bs because all we were moving was a tv stand , clothes the bed room set and the tv. When I thought none of this could get any worse they broke my bed. The 17 year old kid which was the nephew of the mover which I later found out dropped one of our drawers on the ground from our bed the mover broke the bottom piece of the bed and this is ikea bed which we bought for 469 brand new less then 3 months old and it's all scuffed up the drawer is broken and the bottom piece is messed up they only reimbursed us 69 for it which was complete bs do not use this company yea they are kinda cheap it's because they are so shitty and that tom guy is a complete liar

they came prepared with pads and definitely knew how to pack the truck. they moved us in a timely fashion. they did a great job and I'd recommend them to anyone.
