Cost effective and pick up guys are professional. Cons: Only way to track shipment is to call customer care. Keep customers informed about the delays.

Heed the other's advice do not waste your money with this business! I picked these movers after having an in home estimate to show the difficulty of moving from a high rise. I very specifically told at least three people that we had a 2-hour window to use the loading dock. I was assured I was the first move of the day and this would not be a problem. The movers showed up 2 hours after the time they were to arrive. When I called the company, I was told this is how it is and I have to deal with it. Once the movers arrived, they were all nice but had not been told anything about the job at all. We had to put our clothes in garbage bags and take them ourselves because they were not told we needed wardrobe boxes. Then, condos often have long carry routes. They knew nothing of this either and tried to charge extra for that when the guy that gave me the estimate told me that doesn't matter because it's by the time. The movers were scheduled for 6 hours and it took nearly 10 hours to just get the stuff to the new place. We put our bed together ourselves to avoid have them there past 11pm. During the move, I called the company several time for clarification on how much things would be after I was told one thing with the estimate and the moving foreman said another. I got sent to someone's voicemail every single time. How unprofessional to screen calls. I called because I was paying your company $1000 for a small local move. They do not care about their own moving staff and definitely don't care about their customers. Save yourself the headache and bypass these people all together.

What a nightmare. I posted my job on a moving website for a move from Atlanta to Baltimore and was contacted by US-1 Vanlines. They seemed responsive enough and a guy named Jonathan came out to the house to inspect things and give an estimate within almost a day. I wanted full-service which seemed reasonable enough so went with them. They were also able to arrange moving a car which I appreciated. Unfortunately, while Jonathan was pretty helpful, I was then put in touch with Carmen who handled things going forward. Carmen seemed like she started working that morning just about everytime I spoke with her. She couldn't answer any questions for me and constantly told me she needed to talk to someone and call me back or flat out gave incorrect information. That should've been a red flag but I was too lazy to look elsewhere for a mover. The day of the move, the movers were late, and when I called dispatch to get an ETA because I may have had a schedule I wanted to keep as I was preparing for a 10 hour drive, I was met with frustration from the dispatch and was told the times were just an estimate and it was unreasaonble of me to expect the movers to show up sometime within the established two hour window. However, the movers finally did get there and did a pretty good job of packing things up although it too much longer than originally quoted which made me wonder if Jonathan should've looked around a little more. Anyway, they put my things in storage and include 30 days of free storage which is another plus. As the earliest delivery date I requested rolled around, I got a call from a truck driver who was coming up with his son and would deliver my things the day I requested. Great. Anyway, they get to my new house and tell me that their truck won't fit on my street. The fact that they didn't consider this as a possibility, or dispatch didn't consider this as a possibility was mind-boggling. You can literally type in my address on google maps and see photographs on the street. Surely somebody would think to do that before planning a multi-state drive, but no. So they had to rent a truck from home depot and move everything in the parking lot and come back the next day. The driver and the son got there the next day and again told me the rental truck wouldn't fit. They were literally there the day before and didn't have the foresight to take measurements? Looks at the street? Turns out the truck fit fine but the critical thinking necessary to look at a map and find a route other than what their GPS device suggested wasn't there. The truck gets in front of the house and they start unloading. Now, while four guys loaded my stuff, only two guys were there to unload it. They complained constantly. I paid a lot of money for this delivery and to have professionals constantly complaining about having to do their job that I paid for got a little annoying. The other thing is, my house isn't big. I moved from a 1400 sq ft house to a 2000 sq ft house. But fine, they finished and did an ok job of delivering everything. Ok well then we get to unpacking and realize some things were missing. This is what really grinds my gears. I did not sign up for the extra insurance from US-1 which would have been more than my actual move. I just have the basic insurance which covers things at $0.60/pound. When I told them what happened, they said that I could not email anything to them. Everything had to be done through the mail. Thats the law apparently. The other thing is that the insurance is provided through an outside company and not US-1 but strangely enough this outside company is at the EXACT SAME ADDRESS as US-1. Ok fine, so I sent a letter to the correct address with a list of all the items that have been lost along with the weights as per my insurance. I also included photographs. I get a letter back with some form that looks like it was copied from a Ditto machine from the 1980s with places for those same things. They needed this official form to be filled out instead. Strange that nobody told me this upfront or this form couldn't have been mailed to me first with instructions on how to proceed. Ok fine, I filled it out with THE EXACT SAME INFORMATION, and sent it back. Well I call to check on it, but Rosie is apparently the only person in the office who can answer any questions about the insurance and she is never there and she never returns any questions. They have 30 days to respond and so theres nothing they can do. This has been the most frustrating experience by far. It's not even much money but before I can put the claim through my old renters policy, I need to complete this claim through the movers. Just go somewhere else for the customer service. Everyone at US-1 vanlines thinks we should be thanking them for the privilege of paying them for them to do their jobs. It has been very frustrating.

I have moved over 20 times with work. This was by far the worst company. The quote went from 1000.00. to 1900.00 to 3500.00 after loading a one bedroom apartment. The loaders loaded things I clearly marked do not load. It took 6 weeks of calling email I g to get a answer on delivery and when delivered the team complained of long hours and in a hurry as they dumped my belongings in driveway. The most unprofessional company I have ever used. I have MANY broken items and yet agaun cannot get a call back to file a claim therefore I am reviewing on every single site and the BBB. Resales lady was Carmen. Rosie was supposedly dispatch , rude then Lisa who had flight delays ..tge excuse I was given one day. Do not use.

*DO NOT USE* Absolutely the worst service I have ever received from a company. I wish I would have found these reviews before I hired them. I paid $600 basically to have them damage over $5000 of furniture and then offer me $90 for the items. I was guaranteed a start time and they were two hours late. I also asked multiple times if my stuff was fully insured and I was told it was. Little did I know that their "fully insured" means 60 cents per pound. The $90 barely covers all the time and money I spent getting picture printouts for the claim I had to report. " Showed up 1:40 when time quoted by Sales was 12. I specifically asked if this would be the time they would show up and sales said yes " Thursday, the day before the move, a rep called to confirm I would be ready between 12 and 1 " I had the elevator reserved from 12 to 2 at old place and 2 to 4 at new place. They showed up at 1:40 and someone else had the elevator reserved at 2 so we had to share " Right when they got there they dropped a box that had all my liquids in ot " I had reports from my building landlord that they were arguing with the landlord " I mentioned probably 5 or 6 times that the furniture was expensive and needed to be packed well " Their was another tenant that had the elevator reserved at 2 and we had to share the elevator, the other tenant reported that my movers were trying to start a physical altercation " We had to share the elevator which took additional time and not only was I charged extra for this time, the other tenant had to pay their movers extra time " While they were waiting for their turn to use the elevator they were standing downstairs. I asked if they could start wrapping the furniture. I mentioned many times that the furniture was expensive and it needed to be wrapped well " I have a TV stand that they used a two wheel cart for and while loading it on the elevator they slid it across the skid plate on the elevator. There was no padding on the section that they were sliding it on " They loaded the kitchen table with the wood side down and slid it across the truck. The padding was ripped in the area where the scrapes came from " I had an book shelf that didn't have any padding on it and they were sliding it across the floor with no padding " The computer desk they were using a two wheel cart where there was no padding and the whole side of the desk is ruined. I asked them about this and they told me it was not touching in the spot there was no padding which is untrue. o Later the guy told me it looked like a cheap Ikea desk and it could be fixed with white marker. Then he went off saying he thought it was there already. " I asked about the damage and they wouldn't give me a straight answer. They said I could put a claim in on Monday. I mentioned that it needs to be taken car of or I would put in a claim with my credit card. They made me go get cash which took an extra hour " When I got back they tried to raise the price $200. An extra hour should only have been 99. I think the guy was trying to get extra money for himself " When I returned they told me that the building told them they could no longer move in and I had to reschedule. I went and checked with the building and they said they never told him that and that we could keep going. I had the person form the building come out and let them know and she said she never talked told them to stop moving. " Once we started unloading two of the movers took turns disappearing. One of the guys was working hard " The one guy that was working hard kept asking for money, saying he was working for free. If his coworkers would have helped they would have finished earlier. " They dropped my Kitchen table and tv stand off on the 16th floor. It seems like they did it on purpose. I asked where they were and they looked at each other funny and one guy said that they were on the 16th floor. (I live on the 8th) and why would they leave them there knowingly? " They unloaded the truck and I had to move everything (except the large items) which is unfortunately because the large expensive items were the items that got damaged " Sent claim information with description and pictures of damages items. Sent with signature confirmation " 7 months later I had to call in once a week for two months straight to ask the status of the claim. Every week I was told the same thing. "It will be there next week." " Received my claim offer for $90, this is to cover $5000 worth of damaged items.

Worst company ever !!! They came an hour late, didn't sent their insurance to the building. Was absolutely rude, lazy. And when you call the office to explain the situation they don't let you talk and are even more rude. And then when you try to call them for urgent purpose (insurance) they don't pick up the phone. NEVER EVER use this company

My experience #1 Van lines was horrible. They essentially held my belingings hostage while they demanded more and more money. They DO NOT give you warning when your items are to be delivered and charge very high fees if you are not immediately available. When problems arise they stop answering your calls. No one can tell you where your belingings are until they show up unannounced. This business should be shut down.

Update: I am in the process of speaking w lawyers and news stations to receive justice for all of us!! Please contact me directly if you have a similar unresolved issue! Together we can achieve more!! I would give them zero stars if possible clearly I'm not the only One who feels that way. They were so unprofessional they showed up 2 hours late then took their sweet time to the point where it was too late to move my stuff into storage so they had to keep it overnight and then the next day held my stuff hostage till i paid for ANOTHER full day even though it was THEIR fault we didn't make the time frame the day before. Then they broke nearly ALL of my stuff and then when I called to complain to a supervisor nobody would talk to me they said I had to hand write a letter to the claims office and print out pictures and mail it in and they would "investigate" from there. Why would the supervisor not be concerned enough to hear the story herself? Bc once they have your money they don't gaf! you are screwed! BEWARE!!! Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They are complete frauds!! This was the move from HELL!!! RUN THE OTHER WAY!! Update: I now understand why the supervisor kept giving me the run around. Because after a certain amount of days you cannot file an insurance claim. They didn't even offer me the claims department information until after that date had passed. I've attached pictures of all the damages to my BRAND NEW bed and kitchen table. If anyone wants to file a class action law suit please count me in!

DON NOT USE THIS COMPANY - YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!! If I could rate ZERO stars, I would!!! I found this company on Angie's list because it's supposed to be a reliable website for vendors - NOT! Let's start off at the beginning...the movers arrived and were very unprofessional. They used curse words, talked about the conquests (i.e. The women that they had recently had sexual relations with), and even asked to use my restroom on move out day. Even the supervisor, told me to put away my purse and any other valuable belongings. Once everything was packed onto the truck, they left all of their garbage in my apartment - wads of tape, pieces of cardboard & bubblewrap. None of the paperwork was explained to me & due to the fact that I was trying to move away from Florida during the time of Hurricane Matthew, I was in a hurry to get on the road myself before conditions got any worse. Our stuff was stored in their storage unit for the month free storage that was being promoted. I talked to Amanda (one of the head people) & was told that it could take up to 21 days for my stuff to be delivered. I had no issue with that as, I would be staying with family until I made other arrangements. After arriving to my destination, I emailed Amanda requesting my belongings - to which no acknowledgement was made. I then called a few days later, Amanda was busy. Therefore, I asked the person I was talking to that I was requesting my things - they said they would handle it & respond with a date within the next week. AGAIN, no follow up. LONG story short, it took me SIX AND A HALF WEEKS to receive my belongings!!! Things got even worse once my stuff was delivered! I am not the type of person to expect no damages to my stuff, especially for a cross country move....HOWEVER! My $700 flatscreen TV was destroyed. My wooden furniture had deep gouges/scratches and the corners of my coffee table were completely broken off. One box was delivered completely destroyed with my stuff spilling out. They truck driver for the deliver was rude and condescending to me (as I'm a female he said I didn't need to worry my pretty little head about such business matters - with my fiancé standing right there!) This company even left some of my belongings in the warehouse in Florida, when the inventory list had it clearly marked as MINE! To make it worse (like how could his situation get much worse right?!) when reviewing my paperwork on how to make an insurance claim for the damages, I noticed that the supervisor during the move marked my furniture damaged, including my TV as "unknown workable" status. So now my belongs are damaged or destroyed & the company has yet to pay for the damages to my belongings. Not to mention the total price ended up being $600 more than the estimate. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

I'm writing this review for my friend. Her delivery arrived after 6 weeks but was told it would be there in 2 weeks. Once it arrived, a month late, everything was broken, boxes were damaged, the office was rude and the delivery guys were horrible AND wanted to charge me an extra fee for using an elevator!!! They were also supposed to assemble the bed (for obvious reasons they did not) DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. She has filed a claim (I'm not expecting much to come of that) I've also advised her file a lawsuit while she waits for their neglect to take responsibility.

Do not use this company to move unless you are prepared to wait a long time for your delivery, have broken/disassembled furniture that they are not willing to replace, and have good insurance. US-1 Van Lines picked up my household items in Canton, GA on 6-22-18. I was told when I ordered the move that it would take from 7 - 21 days for delivery. My home didn't show up to Los Angeles until 8-12-18. I was told it was because it was a busy time of year. I expected some things to break in the move and attempted to get insurance from the company they recommended, but no one called me back and my insurance company doesn't offer moving insurance. I did have some things broken items which I was ok about, but found out my desk, that was in one piece when they put it on the truck was disassembled by their people in transit. They didn't put the disassembled pieces in a box or wrap them with tape. When I attempted to put the desk together, it was missing many pieces and was bent (metal desk). I reached out to dispatcher Lisa who said she was going to call the delivery people. When I called again, she hadn't heard back from the delivery people. I never received a call back. I filed a calm, expecting replacement value of my desk $179.99, since it was total negligence of their contractor, not employee (real professionals). I received a letter back from John Wagner in their claims department, whom according to them is not at their location when you call, wanting to only pay $27.60, the weight value. I totally understand the weight value insurance on broken items, but not items their people disassembled!!!! I will never use them again or recommend them to anyone!

The number of times I have called this company to get a status on the delivery of my household items is excessive. My items were picked up on July 28, 2018 and I was told that my things would be delivered in a 7-14 business day window. As the 14th day began to approach, I started contacting US 1 Van Lines for an ETA. I was given the run around by everyone I talked to, if I could actually get someone on the phone. Last Thursday, August 16th, I called and asked them to tell me where my stuff was so I could hire another moving company to pick it up. Guess what? I got a call from Jonathan who said, "I'm surprised you haven't heard from your driver. I put your stuff on a truck on Thursday." I thought maybe things were turning around. They said my stuff would be here Monday or Tuesday. WRONG. Have not been able to talk to anyone since. Got a phone number for the driver. He answered the first time I called and hasn't answered since. I one million percent regret having EVER done business with this joke of a company. I beg you not to EVER consider using them for your relocation. Lisa, Carmen, Jonathan....all completely useless.

This company has horrible customer service. Lisa , the dispatcher and general manager, is very rude and condescending. Lisa refuses to apologize for poor service and continued to make excuses. They hacked on last minute charges 3x. One of the charges was that their 18 wheeler truck would not fit on my street so they charged me to transfer my belongings to a shuttle the day before delivery. They should have researched my delivery location upon booking so that I would get a more accurate quote. Ben ,the driver, hacked on $75 to walk from the door down the hallway to my place. The movers damaged my unopened brand new furniture. I am missing a television that was supposed to be delivered. The staff are scammers. Do not trust this company as they prey on people who are vulnerable during a stressful move. This company should be shut down for their schemes.

Terrible. Broken dishes , scratches in the paint on my Harley , which won't start now. They're supposed to disassemble and reassemble things like wall units and beds. They lost the hardware for a wall unit and broke the bed. Not a little it's broken ! Wherever their warehouses are it must not have a roof because in the two weeks they had our stuff somehow the boxes got wet and somehow we had wet stuff in dry boxes and somehow my suits were packed with two gas cans. My wife has a Pez collection and wherever they had it stored somehow everything got wet and it looks like rats chewed into the packages. And it cost us $1,200 more than we were quoted and they had the nerve to ask for a tip. Save yourself the heartache do not use these people.

Unfortunately I can not post this review without giving a star, but if allowed I would have not given even one star. This "company" is a scam. Absolutely shameful and disgraceful that they are even open to operate. My husband and I have never had a more disgusting customer service experience in our lives. We recently moved across the country with our two month old newborn. After calling around several companies I was promised by employee Anthony that her crib would be disassembled and reassembled on site. Actually we were informed by both Anthony and the movers who took apart several of our items that whatever was taken apart would be reassembled on delivery. This was not the case. In fact not only did all of our items arrive with some degree of damage but we were told by the driver that it is against company policy to reassemble cribs. Enraged as a new mother should be after clearly being lied to, I contacted management to which I received attitude, no apology, and was told "well ma'am go ahead and be enraged". There was no accountability on their end for lying and a complete lack of customer service. I am still in shock over the fact that this is the response given by "management". Additionally, we were charged another $350 for having to change trucks to a smaller vehicle so as to access our "back street", which is definitely not. Addresses are provided during the quote process and they clearly have the ability to use their database to understand what type of vehicle is needed to deliver items where. Even our driver told us that he is very knowledgeable of the county (LA county) not some obscure area but an area that I am confident this company ships items to daily. He told us he was aware that a large truck could not be used in certain areas. Therefore they purposefully include hidden charges to jack up your final cost, much above and beyond your promised quote. We called around ourselves and found several truck rentals for less than half of that $350 price they claimed to be fair. This company intentionally fools you into paying hundreds of dollars above your original contracted quote, additionally they strong arm you into paying it as when management was contacted they refused to adjust the price, work with the customer, and threatened that if it was not paid items would be held at the warehouse with an additional daily storage and redelivery fee. This is absolutely a sickening customer service experience. DO NOT HIRE this scam operation. I will be filing a claim with the better business bureau as well. Criminals...
