I used this company to move from IL to FL. The amount I was charged was not what I was quoted. They were at least decent enough to credit me the difference. I do not like that they will not provide a window of time for when they will be there. Especially when you have to be there for it. A one hour window is not convenient when waiting for everything to arrive.

I recently had to relocate from AZ to FL for work and the move was a relatively quick. I contacted PODS who was not able to accommodate me and I came across Pack Rat through a referral from a friend. I called the 800 number and the woman I spoke too was awesome, very friendly, and their price was about $100 cheaper than PODS. Having moved multiple times I specifically asked her about additional charges, such as fuel costs, etc. I was told that my quote was all inclusive and that there were no additional charges. Overall I was quoted, in writing, approximately $3700.00 & change. I ended up booking the container. The driver showed up on the day of the delivery, handed me the paperwork, I signed it, and he took off. Once I arrived in Florida, I was certainly surprised to find a charge on my ccard for over $4k. I called and talked to someone in the billing department. Was an as*****. He was very confrontational and told me it was in the terms and conditions for a fuel surcharge. Told him about the conversation and the quote, which was in writing. Didn't matter to him. I even gave him the scenario of Apple's terms and conditions, and apparently he reads them every time he updates his IPhone (liar). Also, I used them to store my stuff for a month while I closed on my home. Turns out, if you need to get something out of your container, call them a week in advance. If you try and call the day before you need access, $50 charge, need to change the delivery date a couple days out, $50 charge, etc. They nickel and dime you to death while holding your stuff hostage. Now in fairness I will say, outside of the billing issues and the jerk I spoke too on the phone, it was a pretty well rounded experience but I will say do not trust your quote regardless of what you are told by the sales person, need to make a change or gain access do it at least 7 days prior to needing access or get charged and if you need to talk to the billing department, good luck. Everyone in the Orlando facility that I did interact with as well were very friendly, I think the corporate HQ needs a lot of work. Buyer beware.

I used 1-800-PACK-RAT to move from Orlando, FL to upstate New York. I've never done a big move like this and had a lot of questions about how it worked. The customer service was exceptional. I called PODS second and was given a cheaper quote, but was less than thrilled with the customer service and the answers to my questions. I am so glad I stuck with Pack Rat. The customer service was amazing throughout the whole experience- I called with some more little questions and requests and got simple, concise answers and assistance. The unit was delivered and picked up timely on both ends of the move. The truck drivers were so so friendly and can really maneuver those trucks and storage units!!! Will absolutely use again if needed and will definitely recommend!!!

Want to move at your own pace and with very little stress? Use this company for sure! I had two pods delivered to my house, one from PODS - which was a great experience up until the delivery of my pod to my new house and then it became a nightmare that I am still dealing with two weeks later. Heck, I couldn't even get PODS to deliver a second pod to me. My second pod was through Pack-Rat. With Pack-Rat, I got a pod that was 4' longer than the PODS pod for about the same amount of money (with the $25 off coupon it made it cheaper than PODS); the experience to and from my old house, to storage, and to my new house was seamless and easy. They delivered my pod early in the morning, exactly where I asked them to, and picked it up two days later. No fuss, no stress, no issues. The drivers were friendly and efficient, the pod was exactly what I needed, and their customer service professional. If I ever had to move again, this company will be the first company I call! Thank you Pack-Rat for a silver lining to all the moving stress!

DO NOT EVER EVER use 1-800-Pack Rat in Orlando!!! We have had nothing but hassles, issues, delays and errors with the 2 containers we rented from them. We currently have $10,000 worth of flooring sitting in their warehouse that they can't seem to deliver to us. The 48 hour notice is a total lie! We called 3 days in advance and were told we could not have our flooring until 6 days later. Guess what? Today is 6 days later and now they have no record that our unit was to be delivered today and want us to wait another 3 days for delivery. We have contractors on hold, movers on hold while we are spending a ton of money staying in a hotel waiting on the freaking flooring to be delivered. Seriously, do yourself a huge favor. Save yourself a ton of aggravation and call anyone else but 1-800-Pack Rat!!!!! They have the worst customer service that I have ever experienced.
