I'm modifying my review from a less than perfect experience with customer service. The way I see it is we all make mistakes and deserve a 2nd shot. Blake the manager there took the time to contact me and make things right. You don't see that very often with companies these days. He's certainly a good testament to his company. His actions and follow up merit a good rating here. Thanks!
I had a very chaos situation, under so much stress, and clearly this company took advantage. From approximately $500 estimate, to an invoice triple the amount, plus unauthorized withdrawals from my account that i had a fraud investigation, leaving several items i can go on and on,i would not use this company, the move was anything but simple.
These gentleman were AMAZING! They showed up 30min early, did a quick walk through with my husband, listened to what we needed done, and got right to work! We primarily needed help moving our big furniture items down to the Penske we had rented. In the 2hrs we booked help for, they loaded almost all of our stuff for us (about a 3br home worth)!!! And, they really optimized the space when loading the Penske. The gentlemen showed up in a Benkins Moving Truck so I am assuming that they are associated with this company? They were professional, polite, and such hard workers. We can't thank them enough!!
This is a tale of two movers. We moved from Los Angeles to Miami, using Simple Moving Labor after I rented a Penske truck. The guys who helped use in Los Angeles (Rigo Moving) were simply fantastic. They showed up on time, they worked their butts off, were clearly professional and got the truck packed quickly and efficiently. The guys in Miami (Cavan Moving) were the absolute worst. They showed up late, had the most rudimentary moving tools (they needed to borrow my dolly), and were later proven to be lying about "not having us on the schedule." (The correct date, time and address of our move was on the paperwork we had to sign at the end.) Also, it's not clear when you sign up with SML that you're paying them to be the middlemen -- they contract out with the actual labor, and apparently have spotty standards. Frankly, it's worth it to simply check out the Yelp reviews and hire from there yourself. SML is a waste of time and money. I could have found Rigo myself in LA and would have known to avoid Cavan if only (sigh) I would have decided to take the time to do so. Just Yelp who you need and avoid SML. It's too big of a risk.
