The worst company ever. Lied. Left me with tables and beds I'm assembled. They hire stupid day laborers. The workers complained and were so miserable. The dispatch takes your money and hides. Trust nobody in this company. Fraud 1000000%. Never again. Please go elsewhere people.

What a nightmare. I posted my job on a moving website for a move from Atlanta to Baltimore and was contacted by US-1 Vanlines. They seemed responsive enough and a guy named Jonathan came out to the house to inspect things and give an estimate within almost a day. I wanted full-service which seemed reasonable enough so went with them. They were also able to arrange moving a car which I appreciated. Unfortunately, while Jonathan was pretty helpful, I was then put in touch with Carmen who handled things going forward. Carmen seemed like she started working that morning just about everytime I spoke with her. She couldn't answer any questions for me and constantly told me she needed to talk to someone and call me back or flat out gave incorrect information. That should've been a red flag but I was too lazy to look elsewhere for a mover. The day of the move, the movers were late, and when I called dispatch to get an ETA because I may have had a schedule I wanted to keep as I was preparing for a 10 hour drive, I was met with frustration from the dispatch and was told the times were just an estimate and it was unreasaonble of me to expect the movers to show up sometime within the established two hour window. However, the movers finally did get there and did a pretty good job of packing things up although it too much longer than originally quoted which made me wonder if Jonathan should've looked around a little more. Anyway, they put my things in storage and include 30 days of free storage which is another plus. As the earliest delivery date I requested rolled around, I got a call from a truck driver who was coming up with his son and would deliver my things the day I requested. Great. Anyway, they get to my new house and tell me that their truck won't fit on my street. The fact that they didn't consider this as a possibility, or dispatch didn't consider this as a possibility was mind-boggling. You can literally type in my address on google maps and see photographs on the street. Surely somebody would think to do that before planning a multi-state drive, but no. So they had to rent a truck from home depot and move everything in the parking lot and come back the next day. The driver and the son got there the next day and again told me the rental truck wouldn't fit. They were literally there the day before and didn't have the foresight to take measurements? Looks at the street? Turns out the truck fit fine but the critical thinking necessary to look at a map and find a route other than what their GPS device suggested wasn't there. The truck gets in front of the house and they start unloading. Now, while four guys loaded my stuff, only two guys were there to unload it. They complained constantly. I paid a lot of money for this delivery and to have professionals constantly complaining about having to do their job that I paid for got a little annoying. The other thing is, my house isn't big. I moved from a 1400 sq ft house to a 2000 sq ft house. But fine, they finished and did an ok job of delivering everything. Ok well then we get to unpacking and realize some things were missing. This is what really grinds my gears. I did not sign up for the extra insurance from US-1 which would have been more than my actual move. I just have the basic insurance which covers things at $0.60/pound. When I told them what happened, they said that I could not email anything to them. Everything had to be done through the mail. Thats the law apparently. The other thing is that the insurance is provided through an outside company and not US-1 but strangely enough this outside company is at the EXACT SAME ADDRESS as US-1. Ok fine, so I sent a letter to the correct address with a list of all the items that have been lost along with the weights as per my insurance. I also included photographs. I get a letter back with some form that looks like it was copied from a Ditto machine from the 1980s with places for those same things. They needed this official form to be filled out instead. Strange that nobody told me this upfront or this form couldn't have been mailed to me first with instructions on how to proceed. Ok fine, I filled it out with THE EXACT SAME INFORMATION, and sent it back. Well I call to check on it, but Rosie is apparently the only person in the office who can answer any questions about the insurance and she is never there and she never returns any questions. They have 30 days to respond and so theres nothing they can do. This has been the most frustrating experience by far. It's not even much money but before I can put the claim through my old renters policy, I need to complete this claim through the movers. Just go somewhere else for the customer service. Everyone at US-1 vanlines thinks we should be thanking them for the privilege of paying them for them to do their jobs. It has been very frustrating.

Heed the other's advice do not waste your money with this business! I picked these movers after having an in home estimate to show the difficulty of moving from a high rise. I very specifically told at least three people that we had a 2-hour window to use the loading dock. I was assured I was the first move of the day and this would not be a problem. The movers showed up 2 hours after the time they were to arrive. When I called the company, I was told this is how it is and I have to deal with it. Once the movers arrived, they were all nice but had not been told anything about the job at all. We had to put our clothes in garbage bags and take them ourselves because they were not told we needed wardrobe boxes. Then, condos often have long carry routes. They knew nothing of this either and tried to charge extra for that when the guy that gave me the estimate told me that doesn't matter because it's by the time. The movers were scheduled for 6 hours and it took nearly 10 hours to just get the stuff to the new place. We put our bed together ourselves to avoid have them there past 11pm. During the move, I called the company several time for clarification on how much things would be after I was told one thing with the estimate and the moving foreman said another. I got sent to someone's voicemail every single time. How unprofessional to screen calls. I called because I was paying your company $1000 for a small local move. They do not care about their own moving staff and definitely don't care about their customers. Save yourself the headache and bypass these people all together.

PLEASE Do NOT USE THESE MOVERS!!! They deserve 0 stars. Once they get your payment, everything goes downhill. They don't answer calls. No estimate on delivery date. They just care to get your money. Very unprofessional!! Not worth the hassle to deal with.
