Updated Review
My initial review averaged a 4 but the actual experience was a 1 or less. However, there has been a development since the initial review of our move. During the move, someone associated with the move stole my brand new iPad. It was blatantly obvious the devise had been stolen. The box had never been opened, but we found the opened box minus the devise and the box was placed in another bedroom, in an ottoman at the foot of the bed. To the companies credit, I was reimbursed for the stolen devise. As mentioned in the initial review, there were many broken and damaged articles mostly due to poor packing. We were reimbursed a nominal amount of what the actual damages were. The most precious article broken was an antique lighted ceramic Christmas tree my mother had given me 50 years ago. The tree was totally destroyed by the movers. If you look the item up on the internet, if you can find one like that, the price was $700. We were reimbursed a fraction of the value for something that can't be replaced. To the companies credit, they did try to do the right thing by reimbursing us for all the damage. They didn't get there however, but they did make an attempt. Would I recommend these folks for anyone's move? NEVER!! But they did at least respond to our attempts at reimbursement for our loss.

RUN!!
I only give this move a rating of 1 because I don't have the option to give a 0. This was our sixth move in 20 years and we've never had so many broken personal items in all of those moves combined as we did with this one. It's a reflection of the packer personnel that were used. Here are two examples of many. They took a ceramic vase, put it in the bottom of the box laying on it's side then placed two very heavy lamps on top (also on their sides) and of course the ceramic vase was crushed. They put our bedspread in the bottom of a box then put an oil lamp that had been drained on top of the bedspread and on it's side. Of course the residual oil leaked out of the lamp and onto the bedspread which is now permanently stained and unusable. That's the kind of packing they do. The only positive thing about the move is that the driver got here without having a wreck. In all of our moves the driver has been personally involved making sure the workers were doing their jobs and ensuring that everything was broken down and set up properly in the new location. Our driver was AWOL. He was never involved in any aspect of the move other than driving. Upon arrival, we explained to the unloading crew that due to my age and a two story home, we needed them to make sure everything was placed properly so that I didn't have to haul boxes upstairs myself. I explained that I was going to tip them well for this service. They then proceeded to take things off the truck and stuff them almost anywhere they wanted to the point where it was impossible to take inventory. They left dish barrels and other heavy boxes in the garage so that I ended up having to haul them into the house myself which defeated the whole point of tipping them well so that I didn't have to do that. Of course with all of the boxes stacked on top of each other, I couldn't tell what was where until after they received their tip and had left. They left beds without the supporting legs and just left legs and hardware on the floor under the beds. I had to take the beds apart myself and figure out how to reassemble them. When considering using this company for a move, my best advice is to run. You will not be pleased with the results.

Shame on you, using extra boxes and a lot of extra paper to move an elderly relative just so you could charge more. Also, there was no need to empty drawers of soft clothes just to pack them -- as we were told. The actual drivers who picked up the load and delivered it couldn't believe this all happened either. Choose someone else.ADDENDUM: Thanks for your reply below, but your account of things is not totally accurate. Yes, the packers did call your office to say they needed more boxes and told us, and yes the desk had photos and things that needed to be packed -- but NOT the dressers. Additionally, the actual movers related that TOO MANY boxes were used for this shipment. There was hardly anything in many of the boxes.

Moved from FL to WV. Ebinesor was driver. First i told the guy who gave me estimate i have 4 antiques,. I packed my boxes, even when i marked a couple top load fragile he still packed on top of. So there isn't much care of your things. Antique small handed down chair was broken. Who knows how he packed it, we dont get to see but dont understand since he alone packs it i have to suffer consequences of his doing since chair couldn't go into a box. So they are sending me $30 for $500 repair. Oh and I bought 40lbs of salt driver sent me for. So really im losing out on this. Overall 50 years ago my family went with Allied, they crushed roof of car that was transported. Things never changed in 50 years. Dont use Allied Movers !!!!!!

These guys are a waste of time. Contacted them through the Allied website. They just follow a script, but the minute you don't fit into what they want you to do they don't seem to know what they're doing. They hung up on me the first time. Then sent a weird email suggesting a phone interview a week later. When I tried to explain I wasn't moving my home they seem to lose interest or something. They seem to have spent a lot of time and money to funnel calls to them, but can't help you really. I'm calling someone else. They ended again by suggesting I have a good experience in my new home - even though I've explained several times I'm calling to have some furniture moved for my business. Good luck in your new home... bankruptcy court.
