The manger, Sabrina is terrible to deal with. Horrible customer service. I wouldn't go there.
I was very happy to have worked with these guys. One month free - great deal! It was clean and the staff were very friendly. I'd definitely use them again!
I have never rated a company before and have never considered Facebook to do it but in this age...it may be the best way to be heard. When I tried to put my review on their Facebook "write a review" page I was blocked. I have rented a storage unit...and even 2, for 3 years at the Davie, FL facility. Please read the contract VERY carefully. They claim to not be responsible for rodent damage among other things. I moved all of my belongings into a unit 3 years ago, I never expected it to be that long. I moved into a new place on 12/16 so excited to have my own place again and my heart broke when I saw my things in my storage unit. My belongings were ruined. Though my clothes and purses were eaten by "rodents" and covered in feces...Management advised THAT is not covered by insurance. Fortunately, my unit also had a roof leak and THAT damage is covered. Though this storage facility will "lock you out" for non-payment after day five...I have been advised my insurance claim reimbursement can take months. No bed, no furniture and having to throw away 30 years worth of treasures...heartbreaking. If that isn't enough...I was advised that I need to remove the ruined things from the storage unit before the end of the month to not incur additional fees. Please be careful who you do business with. While I was shopping for a unit the others in the area told me "don't go there, you get what you pay for"...I was a single mother who learned a hard lesson. It is now 10 days later and I have submitted my claim, which I was told would be expedited and I have heard from no one. Today I contacted my local management and was told "they are probably closed for the holidays". Very nice! Do people not even acknowledge inconvenience? To date I have paid more than $7,000. to store my belongings. Be careful and aware! Update: it has now been almost 3 weeks since my loss. I paid insurance, had coverage and this company will not respond to any inquiries nor have I been contacted by their insurance company. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and will need to obtain legal assistance.
This is my second experience renting a unit from DSS. I was delighted in doing research to see that they had an amazing 3 month special for selected units. When i called they were courteous, efficient, and extremely helpful in helping me figure out the right size for my belongings. Even when i was indecisive they were patient and kind. I am thrilled with the new management style and staff. SO glad i came back to Davie Self Storage.
Davie Self Storage seemed like a great place at first. Staff was friendly, accommodating and made sure everything was taken care. Of course, right? As time went on (especially when it came time to leave - As I was headed back up north for a few months) Sabrina (the manager) became very unfriendly and rude. I asked to stay two extra days the following month and was treated like the world was going to end. Although, two of the other employees were great. If I remember correctly their names were Pedro and Adrian. I was greeted by them upon arrival, they were always friendly, ect. The manager on the other hand was very rude and not willing to help out in anyway with the situation I was in. What I thought was going to be a great place to keep my items, turned out to be a horrible experience and wasted time. With so many other storage facilities in the Davie area...save yourself time and keep looking when you come across this particular storage facility.
