Rogue movers typically work like this: Without ever visiting your home or seeing the goods you want moved, they give a low estimate over the telephone or Internet. Once your goods are on their truck, they demand more money before they will deliver or unload them. They hold your goods hostage and force you to pay more -- sometimes much more than you thought you had agreed to -- if you want your possessions back.
Only reason there's one star is because I couldn't post a review without it ROAD RUNNER MOVING and STORAGE aka REAL MOVERS MOVING and STORAGE has been the worst moving company I have ever had to deal with. I have moved numerous times & experienced top notch service & if, by chance, there was damage, it was quickly resolved. This was not the case here, REAL MOVERS ARE REAL SCAMMERS. This was one of the most horrific experiences in my life!! The manager Michael Miller was notified on SUNDAY regarding the truck being too large to access the parking low. He said he would look to find a smaller truck, I never heard back from him but did from the truck driver that he was an hour out of Charleston to deliver our possessions. But I didn't know that it was still an 18 wheeler that was not going to be able to deliver my possessions, after he arrived we realized that was the case. I then had to rent a U-Haul for them to unload it from the tractor trailer to deliver them to our condo, (3 trips) Michael didn't even try to make the situation better, worse customer service I've ever seen. How can you care so little about your customers satisfaction. Where is your integrity??? I felt like every day was torture through the entire process! Very disappointed for spending over $3000 and getting this horrible kind of service! To say that I am extremely disappointed with my entire experience from start to finish is an understatement. I am sharing my experience because people need to know this company is not worthy, honest or reliable. I cannot begin to tell you how disgusted we are with our experience with REAL MOVERS MOVING and STORAGE. We had been so certain Real Movers Moving would provide us with reliable, top-of-the-line service while respecting our time AND personal property. We used this company because the salesman promised our furniture and personal items would be treated with care and if anything happed they would resolve it. We moved to a different state and our our furniture was ruined, pictures & mirrors & dishes broken!!! We're seniors but would have fared out better by renting a truck & moving ourselves. No help to submit any claim forms that will be necessary to their claims department. That just adding insult to injury, what a nightmare. Disgusting!!!!! WARNING.....DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO EVEN MOVE YOUR PILLOWS!!!!!! When we filed a claim they only offered us 78.00!!! What an insult! How they came to that amount is not known as they don't detail it & disregarded our submitted request, based on the damaged items weight at .60 on a pound. (Just over $1000) Deplorable customer service!!! They need to be investigated and shut down. Total Scammers. No way to come to a quick and equitable resolution, & to sue them as I'd have to do it in DADE county which is MIAMI & I'm in SC. Be warned, I would not use this company again if my life depended on it. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Stay away and find a company that actually values their customers satisfaction. BEWARE OF THIS MOVING COMPANY! If you do not want to get robbed and do not want to have your items delivered broken & marred, such unprofessional movers, please choose another company!
best moving experience ever ,best customer service I have had in a long time, they got me packed ang moved on schedule.
No matter the amount of due diligence...you still are going to get duped. I originally contracted with a company that completely lied to me -- e-ship Corp. and the sales rep Josh. I was told that they are not a broker and they guaranteed to me a delivery date. A week before the job, I receive a call from a company called Road Runner who tells me that they are executing me move. They were not willing to uphold the guarantee on the agreement with e-ship, uphold the price, or handle the job as contracted - pack, load, and unload for the binding price. It took much negotiation. The team shows up on 3/24/19 much later than anticipated (time range given was 9A-3P) at 6p.m. and work until 9p.m.; I incur costs from the apartment building for keeping the elevator on a weekend until 9p.m., and then the mover says that my cubic feet is double than the binding estimate. And, with all of this, I still never received a refund for my deposit with e-ship. A lot of poor business practices. Totally unacceptable and I am not going to be duped by this. I have been flexible and understanding. Enough is enough. Stay away from this company by all costs!!!! And, from E-ship. Be careful of what lies are told to you. Buyer beware.
I have never been more frustrated by a customer experience with any business in my life, and I've flown Spirit Air AND had Comcast cable. Road Runner is hands down the WORST. I recommend staying as far away from them as possible. When my girlfriend and I moved to Brooklyn, our things were supposed to arrive at the beginning of February. They finally delivered on March 4th, more than 30 days late. It would take several flow charts to diagram the multiple layers of BS we were fed by Mike Miller, Angie, and other Road Runner representatives. It became clear after dealing with them for a week or so that they had no clue where our things were and, worse, had no problem lying to us about it. We spent over a month of our lives sleeping on a borrowed air mattress in an empty apartment, eating off paper plates, trying to get a straight answer out of these clowns only to be told a string of fabrications. First, our things were in West Virginia, then they were in Houston, then they were on their way to Dallas. At one point they were in a flood in Mississippi (checked the weather report, no such flooding reported). Throughout, my girlfriend and I had to shift our work schedules for deliveries that never happened, and spend hours on the phone, day and night, trying to get answers that never came. I worked for a moving and storage company for several years and I understand that things get mixed up. Delays, while annoying, are understandable. What I can neither understand nor excuse is the constant, often unnecessary, lying. When our stuff finally came (badly damaged), the greatest relief was that I no longer had to suffer hearing this awful company come up with harebrained, implausible excuses. Bottom line: YOU WILL REGRET DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.
