The customer service was absolutely terrible. The first representative I talked (Eric) to gave me a quote, and made some promises (that two months of storage would be free, etc..) Then he went radio silent. I couldn't get an answer out of him, and the move date was getting closer. I finally got an answer from another representative (Russ), who told me that the original guy had lied about several things. The cost turned out to be more than twice what the first guy said. (Never trust a quote if they haven't come to your house and looked at your stuff.) A second month of storage cost $750 and couldn't be pro-rated. Resolving item breakage turned out to be more work than it was worth. The worst thing is that it was impossible to get answers out of them about dates. We had a specific move date, and we told them what it was weeks in advance. They jerked us around and finally showed up on the date we needed. But why the runaround? When we moved into our new home and were ready to have our stuff out of storage, it took two weeks of badgering them to actually get it delivered. The movers did a lousy job of putting my furniture (which they had taken apart) back together, ruining one piece and forcing us to run to IKEA for a lost part for another. Very much NOT recommended.

After filling out my request form online, I was contacted by Richard a week before my prospective move. Richard provided outstanding customer service by actually listening to my needs and expressing genuine interest to accommodate everything I was looking for in the perfect move. Richard's expertise was so remarkable that he gave me specific tools which helped me feel more at ease about a what could have been a very costly and stressful move. Richard helped me feel comfortable with asking questions and considering other options to save more money which made a huge difference. Thank you so much, Richard!

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!! A Complete "Bait and Switch" operation! I really want to give ZERO stars. They quote you a low price, then when the movers actually come LATE and deliver even LATER they do not respond to you anymore and the moving company then charge you an extra $100s or even $1000s due to overage of cubic feet (which you are definitely going to have no matter how exact the item list is you give to American Relocation). The moving company will then hold your items "HOSTAGE" until you pay them CASH! I'M TELLING YOU TO STAY AWAY. American Relocation Services is a Broker company and once they get your $5-600.00 deposit, they are no longer involved, wont' respond to emails or telephone calls and you have no control over who your moving company is, and the moving company do not respond either. My movers did not arrive with my furniture until AFTER 6 WEEKS from an already late pickup where American Relocation said in their "binding agreement (joke!) it would be 1-10 days. Filed COMPLAINT with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (Their DOT Number is 3180335). PLEASE take my advice and read the other reviews, my experience was exactly the same as theirs. The MOST STRESSFUL thing I have ever been through in my life and wouldn't wish this Company on my WORST enemies!!!!

Finding a reliable long distance moving company can be a stressful experience if you haven't had to use one prior. I moved from NYC to Miami 3 years ago, and I hired another long distance mover based on their BBB ratings. Unfortunately my experience left me without any of my furnitures, bedding, clothings, for a full 2 months because I went with the lowest price company who offered many promises and delivered 2 months later with all my furnishings broken in pieces and additional $500 hidden fees. I paid a total of $3000 while left with $0 value. With American Relocation Service, the gentleman who spoke on the phone offered me a thorough explanation with step by step instructions in terms of what I have in the way of Large furniture so he can provide me with a proper quote (with no extra hidden fees unlike the previous company I used). He also explained in details that his company is comparable to all the reputable ones such as Allied, with a much lesser price while surpassing the quality that these other big companies offer with their hefty price tags. I explained to him my poor experience in the past, and he relieved me by giving me the insights of why many moving companies use a bait and switch technique with offering extraordinarily low price only to then insert hidden charges in the end. His company gave me the proper price for an outstanding service. One that I will continue to recommend to all my friends and family to come should they need a reputable long distance mover. Thank you for your honest business practice and for standing by your words in terms of delivering the most hassle free long distance moving experience ever. You restored my hope in dealing with long distance movers. I highly recommend anyone who is looking for a sound and reputable company to at least have a conversation with the team of American Relocation so you can see for yourself of why they stand above the rest.
