I'm giving a one star to moving. Brock should not be in the job of arranging jobs. We sold our house quickly, which is a good thing but Brock told us on a Monday that College Hunks could move us on that Thursday. He called on Wednesday that due to over booking, it couldn't take place. Until September 1. So much for stress freemoving!!! We stood to lose $10,000 in escarow. Luckily, our buyer gave us an extension. Brock is for the birds! Meanwhile at the same time we hired the Hunks to move, we also hired them to haul junk. Well, I have to tell you that they were on time, friendly, and professional. Kudos to Austin and Raphael. My advice: haul junk with the Hunks. Avoid Brock and moving.
I wish I could state that this was a good experience. But it wasn't. The actual move was okay, there were three movers, but there was only one who knew what he was doing, so I paid for an hour more than I need to. What's worse, is that after I moved my items out of storage, my TV screen was smashed. When I contacted the company to make a claim, I was told I would only get $12, but they never even sent the paperwork to me. What's even worse, after I unpacked all of my items, I realized a box of my sentimental collectibles was missing. So if you don't mind your possessions being thrown around and smashed, or even worse stolen, make an appointment. I suggest you stay away!
I recently had to move unexpectedly and College Hunks made what started as a stressful experience completely pain free. Brad and Javares were extremely polite and efficient. They also worked very quickly, which is important when you're being charged by the hour. The next time I move, I'm going to request them specifically.
Amazingly painless and worth every penny! Booked a time slot VERY last minute to have some old furniture and miscellaneous items picked up. Originally I had tried to sell/give away for free on OfferUp, but grew tired of consistently flakey people and the millions of emails the OfferUp app sends you every time someone sends any sort of message. I was starting to panic since I had only one day left to get everything out of my old apartment!! But these guys came to my rescue! Austin made sure to call me to let me know he and his crew were on their way (even offered to come early but I wasn't able to meet then) they ended up arriving exactly at our scheduled time and gave me a very fair price! The whole job ended up being less than I was anticipating as well! Austin and his crew were very efficient and super careful not to damage my apartment while hauling my junk out, or the junk it's self since they donate it! I actually just booked them again to come later this week since I over estimated how much storage my new place has. Thanks guys!!!
I called College Hunks in Broward Co., Florida, to arrange a quote to move the furniture from a condo I was selling in Miami Beach and to bring it to Ormond Beach, FL, around 4.5 hours north up I-95. I was quoted 2 "hunks" at $120 per hour. I asked if I was paying $120 per hour for driving time and I was told that I was not. I asked again to clarify and confirm that the truck fee covered the "hunks" during the drive and I was again told that I was only paying hourly for loading and unloading. I received an email later that contradicted the quote I was given, stating that I was paying the hourly rate from start to finish in addition to the truck fee. Tracy called me to check on the email I sent questioning this. She said that the manager would call me that afternoon. I was at work and couldn't take his call, and they sent a text message and made a follow-up call. Then I received an email stating that my job had been cancelled. I went on break and called the Ft. Lauderdale (Hollywood) office. Tracy said she didn't know anything about my job being cancelled and put me on the phone with the manager, Darren. He said that he tried to call me and that they reviewed the call of the call center and I was promised something incorrect and that I would have to pay $120 per hour during drive time. He said that he complained to the call center that I was given incorrect information. I asked, "Okay, so why did you cancel my job?" He responded, "Because you didn't answer my calls, so I knew if I cancelled it, that you'd call me." This is totally unacceptable. ... I was in the midst of a furnished property sale and had to get the job done on the day agreed. After he made me call him back twice to agree to the fee of paying during driving time, the job was again scheduled. (I was not informed during either time that the call was being recorded, if it was.) The "hunks", Anthony and Badio, were very friendly. However, upon delivery, they did not re-assemble the bed frame or the bed side tables, both of which they disassembled. Also, they put 2 antique bookcases back to back and used *adhesive* tape to keep them together before wrapping them with plastic wrap. I am struggling to get this adhesive tape off the inlay of these antiques without damaging them.
