I'd give this place a negative star if possible. We hired Jax Elite Movers via Groupon and requested a Sunday move. Over the phone they were accommodating and told us they would be there between 2-4 on Sunday for the move. They immediately redeemed the Groupon so we were under the impression we were good to go. On the Sunday of the move they were a no show. We called repeatedly and left numerous messages during that day. No response. We were force to scramble and hire another company. It postponed our move two days. I highly recommend you look elsewhere. I wish I'd read their Yelp reviews before hiring this company. BEWARE!
I paid $90 for a Living Social deal for two hours of moving with two guys and a truck. When I set up my appointment, I was informed that I would be charged an additional $139. Not only that, but I was given a window from 1-3pm and the movers arrived at 4:20. I wasted a large chunk of my moving time waiting around for the guys when I could have been running boxes over or unpacking. The only reason I have them two stars was because the guys did an excellent job once they finally arrived. I am very disappointed in the excessive additional charges. These should be listed on the voucher at the time of purchase.
Beware of this fraudulent company!!! They told me that I had to pay 302.10 in addition to the 99 I paid on living social. This company marked my voucher redeemed then I asked them if I could have 3 movers they of course. When I confirmed the move date and had to pay for the additional mover they got into my card account charging my account another 800 total the day of the move and didn't show up. I reported it to my card company and the BBB and even got a no. From an employee of this company and reported her as well. They have several locations so beware of the name.
This company is nothing but a scam. I called the number on their website and it never went through, it would always say unable to complete this call please try again no matter what time you called. They never replied to my email until the day before my move. They were supposed to be there 6/7 between 12-2 pm. And never showed. We had to call random numbers until we got their company. They ended up coming after 6pm in a u haul after I paid 1hr travel time of $90, $4.58 for paying by credit card, $1.58 for a tire fee and $1.25 for oil. Then $50 for fuel-$153.90. After they removed everything they presented a bill for $291- for an extra hour. They are total scammers, please please stay away, they bill under Roovet.com, living social has dropped them from their site.
Please just save your families time and money and go elsewhere. Very, very unprofessional and disorganized. When I originally called their 203 number I did not get a good feeling and the gentlemen who answered the phone was not very customer service oriented and not helpful at all. Since I had bought their $90 coupon for 2 guys and a truck with two hours worth of Moving, I just decided to stick it out. The two hour window really means they are going to get there three hours after the initial start window. Called and said they were leaving at 6:50 and got here are 8:25 from their Atlantic office to San Pablo. That is a 30 minute drive at most with bad traffic. Arrived in a rented u haul. Smelled like weed. (I don't care about the weed just the fact that they had probably just taken 15 minutes to smoke it right before our move does bother me) - Their website advertises "two professional movers". These guys were not very experienced at all. Not worth your money. On top of the $90 I already paid they charged $120 to my account before the services were even performed and before the guys even got here. This is only a quarter of the story. - Just don't. Good lick on your move!
